Question ESS software resale?

Wondering if after the car is reflashed back to stock would I be able to sell the ESS software privately or will it still be locked to the car?

Thank you

Normally once you get a file flashed the cable will VIN lock and cant be used on a different car.

And there is no way of unlocking that cable again? Would ESS be able to? I sent them an email but haven't received a response.

IIRC, they can unlock the cable. But they charge a fee for that. Additionally, someone would still have to purchase your cable then the software from ess again (as opposed to just buying from ess directly and getting a new cable).

I guess I'll just use it for target practice at the range at lease end. Thanks for the responses guys.

Lotta mods for a leased car. Are there any limitations in the BMW lease for tracking the car? Then again, how would they know?...
