Old news.. Mustang GT?

Coworker has a Mustang GT and for some reason I figured they had no chance against the M3. I thought they were just too heavy and not the same HP, but I guess I am wrong and they are basically equals?! Seems kinda sad.

they are more so on par. Although they tested the 6 speed M3 vs 6 speed GT. the DCT might give the E92 a little edge.

Overall though, I have a lot of seat time in a 2011 GT mustang. They are fun and fast cars. but the M3 has nice luxury, better to look at, better made ect. So it does have somethings going for it if you look past the performance of both cars.

But at twice the price makes the M3 poor value for the dollar. I would have gotten a Mustang instead if it didn't feel so numb and disconnected.

If you really want to get crazy, the GT500 costs as much as the M3 yet has 660 hp and obliterates it.

It's not all about performance. It's also about quality of materials, you get what you pay for with the ford.

I've also spent a good amount of time in a modded 2011 GT. It's fast, sounds amazing, and is very mod friendly. But other than that there isn't anything else going for it. I would spend the extra $$ on the M3 every day.

In terms of performance in today`s world, you will always go less for the money with higher end German cars.

A GTR cost about 120, and a 458 is like 300k. Does the GTR make the 458 a bad value? I personally would rather own the 458. You get a world class engine, exotic look, amazing V8 engine etc.

Look at Porsche for example you can buy a 911S for around 100k, and spend the same amount on the upcoming Z06 and be worlds faster.

I didn't want a mustang because after test driving a M3, i felt the car was way better. looking at everything else but performance. interior, engine, tranny, noise, exterior, and of course owning a true ionic.

where a mustang is performance on a budget, and they are a dime a dozen car. my good friend has a modded 5.0L, he simply does not like the car.
