Its going to be an interesting race.

Ferraris are always having a good start, and VET/RAI right behind both AMGs. Turn 1 will be very exciting!!!!

Great drive by Ferrari. And Kimi. Let's hope the NBC announcers are right and this changes the trend of tire conservation in the races. Better to go for it and change tires as needed.

Disappointed as usual for Mercedes, totally a different car from Qualifying to Race trim. From front row lockout to a mid-field car.

McLaren is in another point salvage weekend. Fortunately Perez was told to hold position and caution about tires. After the race, one of his tire already worn all the way down to the bracing plies.

Red Bulls just not enough pace compare to the Lotus and Ferrari. And Webber F'ed up his start again as usual. In a day or two, we will hear from Helmut Marko whining about the tires prevent their cars cruise to a win.

Ferrari looked pretty good this season, as long as they don't make more aggressive decisions (Malaysia). And Mechanical reliability issues (Bahrain). They should have a chance this season.

Finally, I hope a speedy recovery for Pat Fry.

awesome drive from Alonso. was shocked how badly the Mercs were in the race, seeing how fast they were on sat. They really need to figure out their tire problems and choose better strategies, a 3 stop when your car is one of the worst in tire wear? when most are doing 4? ROS could have done better w/ 4 stops, HAM has had an awful race, he seemed very frustrated in the post race interview

Ouch!

On another note, funny how Red Bull team owner starts complaining when his team isn't dominating but last year it was a very similar story on the tire wear.

I felt now the balance of car pace/technology vs tire management has swung to another side. In the past we had very durable tires and a very dominant Ferrari.
Now we have very fragile tires and a tire becomes the dictator the race. And a bit random on the race. (Not as bad a random winners in the beginning of 2012)

But don't forget, motor sportis ALWAYS about tires as its one of the most important component and the only part that keeps the car going and the only spot where the car meets the road.

Perhaps for Red Bull, its might be better to switch its focus of sole aerodynamics to how to make the car works better with the given tires. Lotus and Ferrari managed to do so.

In my opinion, everyone got the same tools. Its like a regulation. You make your car works the best with given tools and regulations.

and so the countdown begins on the inevitable Hamilton meltdown. My guess is either Budapest or Dubai (Mercedes usually manages to make slight improvements to the car over the break, but it doesn't last)

that's funny because I predicted an eventual meltdown at the beginning of the season. It's just a matter of time.
