Generally it is not, but some offense are still instantly terminable. Theft, overt harassment, presenting a danger to teammates, false documentation, etc. I terminated someone in less than a week on two of the aforementioned and less than 2 weeks on the overt harassment. My industry is especially risk averse but as a field manager, when I had to terminate an associate I have had complete support.

In most cases people fire themselves. It just takes time for the documentation to catch up.

I might be in the minority here...but the reaction from America to a hormone-raging, drunken brat has been nothing short of stereotypical American sensationalism: berating, threatening, and destroying the career and life of a senseless, PMSing beotch, rather than paying any attention to, for example, the millions of Iraqi lives Americans have already, and will continue to destroy, by the usage of depleted uranium weapons. As Americans, we will destroy the life of a stupid 30-year old for attempting to knee an Uber driver in the nuts, but ignore our impetus to destroy the lives of millions of foreigners, and their children, who had done nothing wrong. Now where's the logic in that?

She went on ABC news on Jan 27 and apologized. In my eyes, and the eyes of the Uber driver whom she's compensated and apologized to, she's forgiven. Best not let it happen again. Alright. Move on, shall we?
