ZCP Wheels vs. Style 220" 19"

Looks aside, are the normal style 220 19" wheels better than the new ones offered on the Competition Package? I understand the new ones are cast vs. the forged 220 style.
Are the cast much lighter weight? Why else would they offer a lesser quality wheel on an upgrade package?

Dont make the assumption that Forged > Cast in all cases.

I have no idea, I am sure LMB probably has the details. I dont own either wheels so cant comment. My guess would be cost does come into play, but strength and durability of the design may be a factor as well.
I have heard really good things about the quality of the 220's and I am sure BMW doesnt want customers to view this is a downgrade so there must be a method to their madness.

We know the size and offset of the 359M wheels, but not the weight. The wheels are supposed to be flow-formed cast, which I believe produces the lightest wheel possible among the three casting processes. Since they are wider than the 220Ms and given that they are cast, my money is on them being heavier (though lighter than the 260Ms). However, in the absence of hard data, this is all just speculation.

I'm mainly trying to decide if I should go for the performance package. I'm fond of the 220 19" wheels but the way I have the car configured, it is only $550 more to get the performance package.

I would just go for the performance package and be done with it. You can always pick up a set of 19's in the for sale section down the road. But keep the 359's, they will come in handy when the time comes to sell.

If the E46 CSL/ZCP wheels are any indication, these E90/92 ZCP wheels weight should be in the 25 (front)-27 (rear) lbs range.
