Strip Powdercoated Rims

Anyone know if its possible to remove powdercoat from a rim and refinish and polish? Rims are currently gloss black powdercoated with a hyper silver finish underneath. (VMR V713). Whether it be through sand blasting/media blasting. Any shop recommendations in the Bay Area as well? Thanks.

Yes you can strip a powder coated wheel. I recently acquired a new 911 C4S, unfortunately the package included wheels that were black, until I had them stripped and repainted in the traditional Porsche silver. I don't have pictures, but you could certainly approach a good detailer in your area for this type of information, they seemed to be dialed in with the folks who perform rim repairs, coating etc.

There's a few in the bay area. You can check the regional forum

I am in the central valley so there are some good shops out here
I used Stockton Wheel and there's a good one in Sacramento but the name escapes me right now
