Are you finding the gears so tight that you go from 2 to 5th instead of 3rd at first? I seemed to do that a lot on the very few I have driven. It?s a great car, not sure it needs 7 gears! Feels like driving a bad a$$ Batmobile! Nice purchase, but enjoy!

Rarely. It takes some getting used to having 7 gears in a manual box. Neutral is actually between 3 and 4 which is why some people sometimes grab the wrong gear. I swapped an MGW shifter in (whole new box and lever) and that helped quite a bit.

Not really. Those carbon rotor-specific brake pads cost a fortune. The stock iron brakes are more than capable.

Yeah it seems for track work carbon brake running costs are overkill for the average weekend warrior. Since the Z07 has some sort of different suspension tuning, you find the non-Z07 more than adequate? I haven't found any Z07 vs non-Z07 GS comparisons so I suspect the package is more for the brakes than anything else.

Thanks for posting this. My brother just got a z06 and I drove it and boy is it fast but it just can't enjoy it like I would want to. Its TOO much power for the average hobbyist, IMO.
But, I love the way it looks, and the way it handles and how capable it is; and I don't want a Camaro. So if i go American, it will likely be a C7 GS. Biggest issue i have is....I want a Porsche (GT3 to be exact) and Idk if i'm willing to give up my M3 for the C7. |

Don't get me wrong, I loved my M3, but the Corvette is just on a different level performance-wise. It's a riot to drive it each and every time.

Just saw this on their website. The CCB are $7500 on their own vs. the Z07 package ($8000) for the CCBs + suspension tuning + PSC2s. I wonder which one I would choose ...

CCBs will pretty much last the life of the car if you aren't racing on them, and a DD probably wouldn't be interested in a stiffer suspension and racing tires. But I mostly agree: $7500 buys a LOT of iron rotors and pads.

The other day I test drove a basic 2018 stingray 7 mt and really enjoyed it, I am sure a GS would be even that much better.... the amount of looks it gets is crazy though not sure id be down with that for long.
Anyway just thought id chime in..C7's are about the only thing id consider replacing my m3 with these days. They are insane looking i can't blame people.. i alway stare when i see one! ha! Your GS is killer glad its a home run for you. Iam jealous |
