Lux H8 install question?
The space on the right side is very limited for the H8 install.
Short of removing alot of the surrounding plastics, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks |

I dropped the wide part down first and them reached in & guided it up pulling the wires with one hand & my fingers pushing the bulb into the opening. I marked the metal part with a grease pencil so I knew where it lined up. Once in the opening, I got a couple fingers in to turn it tight. GL -

So... I looked around the garage for possible alternative tools to assist. Actually, I used a small padded pipe wrench to securely hold the light unit while supporting the rear with a flat, slightly curved tool called a spanner (used to adjust motorcycle suspension settings). Using these in combination allowed line-up and alignment of the notches and a means to securely turn the unit until tight. A neighbor stopped by and said it looked like surgery. ...it definitely takes some patience.

The drivers side I did ok, in about 5 minutes or so. The passanegr side was a total fucking bitch and I cut up my hand pretty bad. There is no trick, just play with it, you'll get it in.

Is this something that could be made easier by just removing the entire light housing from the car or is the problem within the housing itself?

Nope - taking the headlight out of the car would require 2-3 hours of work. It really will only take about 5 minutes to get it in place. you just need a bit of patience
