Custom Roundels

I had originally ordered the Mfest roundels; which after 5 months of waiting I opted to get my money back. I came across a shop Luftkraft Fabrication that said they could paint them, no vinyl was used. Turned out perfect. I did a matte black, with a charcoal flake, space grey combo and a matte clear.

They may "look" the same...but, the propeller separation, BMW lettering and exterior of the roundel are actually A52/space grey. There's also a light charcoal flake for differentiation between the propeller.

It might...but it's the same paint/clear that's used on a car. Same resilience as the factory roundels, which it's just a thin clear vinyl overlay on OEM roundels vs an actual clear. The vectors for the vinyl roundels are done. If it were to get too bad, I'd have new ones made and wouldn't have to pay for that to be redone.

Mfest Roundels

I ordered (and paid) for gloss black/space gray roundels from Mfest 3 weeks ago. I was told by Chris via email that they were being shipped on 7/28. Still haven't arrived and repeated emails have gone unanswered. I heard similar issues about Mfest on the board, but they were from 2012. Apparently, they continue to this day. Thanks for the post. I now have another option for custom roundels for my '13 S65 M3.

Want. Looks nice indeed. Here's a pic from their facebook of a set of black gloss/clear ones. I bet they'd look great on.

I had Luftkraft do a custom set for me. Identical to OEM except replacing all the chrome with silver. They came out nice. I'm planning to do a thread about them soon.

Great information. I was thinking of attempting this myself, but I think I will go with this option.

I tried, multiple times. I believe I burned thru 3 or 4 sets of roundels. Removing the thin adhesive on the front is pain staking. There's indentations left once all is removed on the front roundel; which makes it easier to mask off. The rear, different story. It's not the same roundel and there's virtually no lines to follow. Chris and Mark at Luftkraft do super sweet work. They've done quite a few of these now and have it down to a science, you won't be disappointed.

Here are mine from Luftkraft. We went with Titanium Silver Metallic in place of all the chrome parts. Otherwise, I stuck with stock colors. They look great on my Space Gray M3. (Pics on car soon.)

Very sharp. Those look like they could be factory. I am generally not a fan of the aftermarket ones I see in weird colors/patterns.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was going for.

It is part of an over-all de-chroming. iND painted my ///M3 badge and intake manifold badge Titanium Silver Metallic, too. Along with center caps by Luftkraft, the headlights by OSS, and some custom vinyl for the stickers on the side gills and the roundel on the steering wheel, there's not a spec of chrome on the car!
