One thing I found and I think it's a good thing

As I am on a long trip ... I find only a few heads turning looking at my car. I guess people notice the power dome as they pass me and the M3 badge on the side. What do you find and think?

I think it's a good thing not as much worry when I park in a hotel paring lot now as I had with my Z4

Not like last year when I took a similar trip in my Z4 lots of thumbs up I got and comments nice car, looks great.

Not entirely sure what you're asking, but if you're asking how do people react as I drive around, I can say that some (actually few) recognize what I'm driving, and I notice them look, nod, or hate... the rest don't even give a crap.

I had a guy in his 40s with his family compliment on my car this past weekend. That was nice. I don't worry about people messing with my car or anything though. There are tons of M3s out there...

Back in 2007, my parents use to take my e90 330i out and get a lot of compliments from the younger croud out here in Los Angeles.

I'm guessing that's a different story compared to an M in 2011, since the e90 was new back then.. You'd expect more people to be able to verify the difference between an M & 3 serie - but I guess not :|

OT - I totally miss the look of the 230s on my ZPP ZSP 330i

I either get the car enthusiasts who really appreciate the car or the people who just say it looks gorgeous. Thats only running into people, on the road, everyone's head is turning. And I'm good with all of that

I used to get about 1 complement a month from other drivers, while driving my AW e46 M3 around the SFV. Its been 5 months now, and not a single compliment on the e92 M3. Did get a wave from another e92 M3 driver, though.

in LA? no offense and i mean this with all due respect, but i call bs. 3 series have been a dime a dozen out here in LA, even during 2007. did you take that 3 series to a ghetto part of town? something smells fishy with your statement.

I see more M3s than Civic Si's in Los Angeles. There are 5 E92/E93 M3's (including mine) in my condo alone.

im starting to see porsches everywhere. lots of old 996 are being bought and cayennes. so many cayennes. although that car saved porsche, it has diluted its racy lineup and heritage analogy time:

Never got one compliment from a stranger yet. I suspect 98% of the drivers out there can't distinguish the m3 from a 328 or any BMW for that matter. They only recognize the roundel and automatically think "prick"

hmmmm....i still think porsches get that reaction more than bmws, as bmws are so common. you should go to a university of california campus in socal. TONS of 3 series running around. so many beautiful moving works of art

past weekend, I parked at a mall area, my g/f went in, I decided to hang around outside instead. There was a bench on the sidewalk, I just sit there, so you can't really tell that the M was my car, there were actually chicks who walk by and were like "damn, that's hot"...

But guys to girls who did a second glance was like 2:1

I can't drive anywhere without people giving me a thumbs up. yesterday was a new one, I was at a stop light and this pedestrian (a kid around 20 yrs of age) started making this bowing motion toward me. although it was flattering, I told him he should be out bird-doggin chicks at his age.

I also rarely can pump gas without someone walking up and asking questions. last weekend was another first though when some kid told me I should start street racing people for money and to "hit him up" if I ever come down by division street (where Chicago's finest F&F street racers meet up, I guess).

I just got back from a road trip to and from Tennessee. As my wife drove for about 4 hours, I was able to observe traffic as it passed us (we were leading a caravan of vehicles that were going the speed limit). We got looks from many, many other motorists. I also got a couple compliments from people as we were getting gas....incidentally we got 23.7 mpg when I was driving with the cruise set around 80 and a couple jumps to a bit faster than that.

Heck, I still catch myself checking the car out.

I was driving last January around 90 mph on the freeway minding my own business and had a Prius owner passed me in the left lane and flicked me off. Does that count?

P.S. I recall thinking I've got to be getting better gas mileage than that idiot....

I live on division and I'm wondering where these street races are going on cause I haven't seen them!!!

I rarely get any comments on my car. I feel like there are too many nice cars in Chicago.

Since i bought my M3 I've had a ton of comments. Just leaving a meeting this morning i had a girl my age in her 20's , her mother and grandmother all stop and look at the car as i got out. Even where i live in a affluent gated community where BMW's , Lexus' and Audi's are everywhere I've received comments.

The beauty of an M3 is that it looks pedestrian and bites like a pit bull. Only the car connoisseurs know what it is. I like the way it hides it's true nature.
