any GT3 owners want to help me with this deal?

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst...567608354.html

83k is a tad higher than your average GT3 but price-wise its pretty student friendly Anyone think I should go for it? Also, is there anything I should look for when I go and see the car in person? Thanks!

EDIT: actually I'm not too sure now. I didn't realize it said "GT3 Aero Kit". It might not even be a real GT3 ;_;

That is not a GT3. That is a standard C2 coupe with a GT3 aero kit.

What he said. I wouldn't go for it, I believe '99 was the first year the had the 996 in the US as well, but I can't recall if there were any specific problems with the early models.

Please do your homework first. I hate to see kids get burned because of getting all teary eyed over cars like this. You are the very person the seller is looking for. And I know who the seller is. Do your research. In the meantime stick to drooling over pics in magazines. Otherwise that hot looking babe from the escort service will burn you.

yeah I just realized after a few minutes of posting this thread that I didn't read the title of the post carefully. *facepalm* got worked up a bit too fast there. well its back to the JDM choices for me xD. WRX, Miata, or leasing a 335i and getting a JB3 (ok, so that last one isn't really JDM lol)

83k? You can get the 997's for like 75k. The 996 GT3's go for like 50k+

Hey Henry before you buy the porsche make sure you do a DME Scan for any over revs. Plus 1999 your going to run into some maintence issues. Just look for an 2002-2004 at least. There are some 911 turbos for around mid $30 to 40K. Also it's not a GT3.

Also check out my thread here,

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=336427

I'm picking up a 996 911 Turbo soon.

First hand experience, the coolant reservoir failed = $300. The alternator failed = $1000.

Good luck.
