Bmw e93 m3 k&n filter

Hi people just need a quick advise from you guys is it orite to replace my original air filter with a k&n air filter also does it make any difference in any way...

I think it'll make a difference of u have an 08-09 m3 with the built in charcoal filter

I was under the impression it was just the American 08-09 cars which had the charcoal filters. Pretty sure the EU cars always had the less restrictive paper type.

I replaced mine recently with a K&N since the OEM one was looking a bit manky. At £65 or whatever, it's not exactly a big spend. I find there's a little bit more of an induction noise but nothing mad. Nothing my wife notices anyway,
