Have an appt. with Mike Benvo, my wish list?

Since i have a appt. with Mike next week for a MDM retrofit/Coding/Tune, might as well get my wish list together!

Update to latest System Software
Update Nav to 2012 maps
MDM Retrofit
Turn off seatbelt chime for driver/Passenger
Enable DVD in Motion
Disable iDrive “accept” message on startup
Turn off iDrive Fasten Belts Warning
Add a fuel stop suggestion option
Add DSC Off option to MDrive settings
Have eight shortcut buttons instead of 6
BMW Live Activation (list says 2011+ cars, but Mike did it on his 08 right?)
Rolling of windows and sunroof up with the key (holding lock)
Folding the mirrors with keyfob lock
Automatic Unlock when key is removed / car is turned off
Set the sunroof to automatically close when rain is detected
Allow the windows to move up and down even with door interruption
Allow the wipers to complete their cycle after the car is turned off
Tweak settings for welcome lights
Make the emergency signals double blink when turned on
Enable all four front headlights for brights and brights flashing
Enable BMW Efficient Dynamics Display
Turn off the annoying “key in ignition” gong
Add instantaneous digital MPG to M cars
Remove the over optimistic correction to the digital speed display
Make the low fuel warning come on later (1/6th)
Euro MDM mode activation
Blinkers flash 4 or 5

Tuning list
Reprogrammed torque management parameters
Reprogrammed throttle response in both normal and sport modes
Reprogrammed ignition timing, and optimization for fuel type(crap 91 in LA)
Reprogrammed Vanos control for maximum drivability
Sharper throttle response and smoother engine operation
Launch control 4000rpm

Should i install hi-flo air filter first? Brand?

Anything i'm missing?

You should already have DSC Off as an option in your M Drive settings. Turning it off is how you can select Drivelogic S6. My 2010 works this way.

BMW Live requires a Combox upgrade, it's not just software.

My car does not have MDM from factory, its going in for a retro fit, I do have Bluetooth already, does that mean i have a combox? For the record my car is 6MT

The DSC off option in M Drive menu is for the M button. I did not have that as an option for the M button until I coded it. Change DSC_OFF_CIC to aktiv in CIC.

I had the cold start secondary air pumps removed by Mike. It no longer has that loud start up when it's cold and the throttle response remains normal. I don't know if it's that big of a deal with 6MT, but with DCT I think it's a must.

I don't understand this logic unless you have modified any part of your exhaust. Cold start is awesome on stock and barely lasts a minute. My neighbors truck is louder than my car

My favourites are switching the triple blink to 5, and eliminating the double pull. Enjoy!

On a DCT car, the clutch engagement and throttle response is horrendous until the car warms up. Pulling out of a tight parking spot becomes very frustrating.

I have dct. It's annoying but not enough for me to want cold start removed. Just me

Just came across this thread.

Your parts will be in on Wednesday

If you don't have combox now but want to get it, we can always retrofit this in the future.

Not sure if you have a 6MT or DCT, but if 6MT you might also want the 6MT launch control feature: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=746163

Other tuning features you might want are the cold start rev limit reduction, and maybe the cold start cam phasing shut off.

BMW Live is available only if you have the Combox.

Safe travels and we'll take good care of your baby when it comes in.

I think Im the only person on this forum that actually likes cold start. I love the way it sounds. I think it makes my car sound like a big bad ass boat...LOL. I dont really notice any delay in the throttle? Then again, I take it very easy on my car until its reached normal operating temps.

I too liked it when my car was stock. it sounds pretty cool.

However, when you have an a full Akra or are catless, the sound is dramatically increased. With cold start enabled, I get dirty looks from everyone walking around in my enclosed parking structure. And to be honest, I don't really blame them. Because I back up to a wall, the sound resonates like crazy. You can't even have a conversation ten feet from the car without screaming at the person next to you. It vibrates your chest. It really is 'too much'.

So on a car with modified exhaust, it makes a big difference in this scenario. Although it does sound pretty cool/crazy, I have to admit.

For me, it's not all about sound. The cold start cam phasing causes the car to be much more jerky and unsmooth on startup. Being able to drive the car smoothly on cold start was enough to make the feature worth it for me.

I love the cold start! I just let it idle for 30 seconds or so, put my phone in the cradle, and then back out the drive way. I get to the street and we're good to go.

I keep meaning to call you guys but they just won't leave me alone at work!
