Where would these mods get me? Pulley, xpipe, tune, drop in filter.
I know it's weird drag racing an M3 rather than taking it to a real track, but there just arent any here. Unless someone knows of a track in Florida that isnt just an oval. I'm thinking of instead, just buying a nice exhaust system. OEM mod sounds good, doesnt drone, and its cheap. I'm so used to driving a loud american car, I was looking at Kreissieg exhausts before I realized it would drive me crazy
Megan racing catback (see link in sig) and Borla quad resonated x-pipe -- full system for ~$2k. Where you'll be quarter mile with that + other bolt ons I don't know. Nowhere close to your Camaro for sure.

As far as there being no road courses in Florida.. really? Homestead, Sebring, PBIR, Daytona.

Get some race fluid and pads and have a blast. You'll never develop a love and respect for the car trying to make it what it is not. An E93 M3 is no drag racer.

Do what I am doing/have done. Going to muffler shop next Friday to install remaining parts. I had them cut out the secondary cats, and installed Magnaflow mufflers in the rear. Next friday, swapping out the OEM x pipe with a magnaflow one and replacing the resonators with something a bit more friendly. Also getting my springs and pulley put on. There will be nothing left of the OEM exhaust. In about a month, deleting the primary cats. Cost for all this work? Less than 1000 bucks, same stuff as the overpriced xpipes.

Cheers.

The Kreissieg exhaust is VERRYYY tempting. I hear you can adjust the valves so much it can sound as quiet as stock..

Go to track, drive fast, pass faster cars, newfound love/appreciation for M, repeat as necessary

Then mod for the track, it's a blast

I never keep a car more than 2 years, 3 at max, so I dont want to spend 10k+ on a supercharger and have things break and pay to fix them, pay to maintain, then lose money on resell (basically my camaro).

I want to do some pretty simple mods. Maybe exhaust for sound with an Xpipe, an underdrive pulley, a tune, and a drop in filter. From my research I've read a tune, xpipe, pulley, and drop in filter should be about $1,600 and 40-45 whp? If I'm wrong correct me. In the Camaro 40 horsepower could be attained for about 400 dollars, so this is a lot to me for what I'm getting. Is it worth it? Do those mods really make a noticeable difference in the car, or will it be cool for 2 weeks and then I'll stop noticing it because it's so subtle? I'm just looking to wake the car up a bit.. In other words, if I do all these mods, I want to get in the car and say "OH MAN THAT MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE THIS IS FUN OKAY. YES."
If you don't want to supercharge it then go with the simple bolt ons. I went that route until I recently supercharged it.

Rpi full exhaust, Rpi scoops, MS pulley, MS intake and pulled some good numbers (no tune).

+1 on the OEM exhaust mod. Stupid cheap, but it's something you'll experience everytime you drive the car. Stock exhaust almost "ruins" the car, it's way too quiet

I was thinking about doing alot of mods but after looking at the power results from bolt-ons I'm just gonna save the time and money and just put an electronic exhaust cutout system on it for purely the sound. I've researched on it and people say it sounds a lot like a Ferrari with the loud small displacement v8 when opened up.

You mean a cut-out system like QTP or Noweeds?

Yeah I ordered the qtp system and I'm gonna weld it right before the muffler

The problem is you can bolt on only 15-20% horsepower short of a supercharger and you have a heavy convertible that weighs 10% more than a sedan or coupe and you need the majority of any non forced induction gain just to get you to the level of a regular M3.

The M3 is already weak on torque. Saddling it with all the extra weight of the convertible makes it even weaker.

Even the centrifugal supercharger, the only forced induction option for these cars, adds relatively little torque, so you still have to run the car to redline to make big power.

I'd look at a new twin turbo M6 convertible or the performance versions of the Camaro and Mustang convertibles that also have about 550 lbs torque. Torque is what you want for satisfaction when you have a 4000 lb car.

K I've decided. I'm either going to do the OEM exhaust mod or get cutouts. Rest is staying stock. Waste of money to me. I'd rather spend supercharger+exhaust money on a '67 camaro.

Even with a supercharger my car never felt that fast, but yet I was able to beat 650awhp GTR's.
Just wondering what type of race you were pulling on 650awhp gtr? Seems a bit odd...I'm guessing maybe 60-130...

Just for reference: DLSJ5 ESS625 kit with meth is 586 rwhp and runs 6.80s 60-130 according to his sig and there are P600 GTRs with approx 530-540 awhp running 7.01 in 60-130...
