I think there are a few of us going. I've signed up, MaxL and M3-Mike have also signed up I believe.

So far it looks like the weather will be holding up for the weekend

EDIT: Looks like I won't be coming. Took my car in for tech inspection and my car threw a bunch of errors. I'm having my shifter assembly replaced under warranty.

Oh, that's too bad. Hope they fix it without issues. BTW, racing school is different from the HPDE - different curriculum and track time. They do not focus as much on driving as on making sure you are not a liability in a competition environment.

Take the M3 as in the Miata you would be flat most of the lap.You do not realize how steep the Andretti straight is till you drive up it in a slow car Our E30 race car was like that when we ran it in stock form.

Actually, I haven't signed up yet.. did not realize we have to do a tech inspection for this? I've never done one.. do I just take the car to a dealer or where do you guys get yours done? What cost is involved? Hmm, wonder if I have time this week to get that done too...

So you not going shizzle? What's wrong with your shifter?

So you not going shizzle? What's wrong with your shifter?
You can get the tech inspection done pretty much anywhere, you just need a licensed mechanic to sign off. I really only took it to BMW Toronto since I wanted to check for error codes from the last track day. Otherwise, I would have either gone to Sports Car Boutique or Speedstar.

I had a weird problem a couple weeks ago where it felt like the clutch was slipping going from 4-3, and i'd get a "start off assistance inactive" error. I didn't think too much of it since it didn't act up after that. But turns out the car threw all sorts of errors. I'll get a copy of the error codes when I go back since the parts are on back order. The car won't be fixed in time for the weekend, and i'd rather not track the car while it's throwing errors.

On a similar note, I've had a good experience so far with BMW Toronto. They haven't complained one bit about my brakes, and didn't try at all to blame them for the problem. Only issue there is I don't get a free rental since I didn't buy from them, but pretty much every dealership does that, and I knew that ahead of time so I can't complain.

Bummer! Does that mean you are out the entry fee or will they refund / credit you?

LOL I was waiting for this to digress into a DCT vs. MT thread! I'm now seriously thinking of pulling the infamous Alter Peter manoeuvre. BMW Toronto has a really nicely spec'd 6MT coupe with competition package, so when I go back i'm going to check the trade-in value of my car

I got a 325 loaner and Anna always comes back with X1 or X3 when she takes the M in, even though it's a US car. I am not sure why - I do not really know people in there well. I do not specifically tell them I did not buy the car from them when I schedule the appointment and request a loaner, but they know it's a US car, so

In the worst case you should be able to get it credited to one of the future events. It's a legitimate reason for not showing up.

I just heard back from them, and they were totally understanding. Scott took care of me right away, and gave me the option to refund or credit to the next event.

It seems like the socially acceptable excuse slow people use at the track - I figure I can only use the noob excuse for so long!

So who will be at Mosport tomorrow? I was thinking of driving up for the social aspect since I never had a chance to get my car tech inspected (why do they need this anyways?) but if none of you will be there, I might not bother...
