WOW! What a great write-up. I felt like I was reading a magazine article from National Geographic! Thanks so much for taking the time to put this together. Definitely seems like the only way to buy a new BMW.

When you drove trough the Gotthard tunnel, you were on the Autobahn. So you needed the vignette. You did not need the vignette when you drive over the Gotthard Pass

They handed me a piece of paper with permitted countries, but I don't recall them outright asking me which countries I am going to. But from what other people have researched, it seems okay to drive through the country. And the Polizei on a bike was driving behind me for a while so I know they had to have seen them. Which I did, but again it wasn't an autobahn. Anyway, it's not like there is a huge "Welcome to Liectenstein!" sign, so you could easily say it was an accident that you drove in.

Thanks! I crossed over into Switzerland on the road leading from Menaggio, Italy to Lugano. It goes along the northern side of Lago di Lugano. This road here, and definitely not an autobahn. I had plans to buy the vignette anyway but wasn't expecting to do so at the border already.

I wish they offered Euro delivery for Australian cars. Mind-boggling scenary and hope you had a great holiday especially with an ///3 to enjoy some of those routes. Nice colour choise for the car. Congratulations.

Really incredible write-up, and fantastic photos. Looks like you had quite an amazing experience. Now I really can't wait for my own September ED for my 7-series!

Although, after reading about your experience and seeing your photos, you're making me want to build a second garage so I can also hang on to my E93 M3.
