I've read every post in this thread..awesome stuff guys. I just know, for myself, I cannot continue clocking in and out 5 days a week at a desk job. I have always been interested in real estate, but not sales, lol... I know a few people in real estate and they work lots of hours, but everyone works on their own time and own schedule. I am seriously looking into becoming a mortgage broker part time and see where it goes.
On a side note, I'm curious if anyone here has their business where they run it primarily from working online most of the time? |

I dont think anyone mentioned this but a big thing is have money on the side. It takes a lot to start a business but from personal experience you also dont pay yourself for awhile so keep that in mind

Also, without a w2 and regular job, you are no longer a member of society as far as credit is concerned. Even with a great credit score you can't get a mortgage, car loan, refinance, pretty much anything until you've been in business for a few years. The real eye opener was when I got turned down for a Macy's card, the lowest common denominator in american consumer credit......

credit is like a woman, she gets small and large; and if u dont use her she goes away
owning your own business and having good credit can get you places....its harder to get mortages and refinaces but you can get huge credit lines at all the banks....

Thanks to this thread, I have signed up a few real estate classes to get my feet wet and have enough courses to sign up for a real estate certification. I plan on finding some sort of part time gig with this and go from there while still keeping my full time job for the time being. I have always been interested in all aspects of real estate, aside from selling. Anyone in real estate that work on their own hours care to share what you do or how you got started?

7-3, work from home, awesomeness....
Though I honestly love the cube. normal jobs are fine, if you are doing something you really like and the people you work with are great. |
