What's the best spring/spacer setup for the E92 M3?

Fella's, I'm interested in getting lower springs but just don't have enough data to go on from reading all the posts, at least I still don't feel comfortable making a choice yet.

What I'm looking for is a more solid ride at higher speeds with the EDC, lower but not slammed. Keep same kind of quality ride with comfort & normal settings of the EDC. I'll track it maybe once a twice a year when I get a chance but mainly used on the road.

Bottom line is functionality more than looks. So what springs & spacers do you all suggest? Thanks,

I know you've been doing a ton of research on this topic like I am also.

I'm starting to feel that it may not be such good idea to alter the stock suspension that is already brilliant out of the box. I don't know for sure yet, but I may hold off on getting springs and spacers. I've heard that it's mostly cosmetic, and may not improve performance or handling.....And in fact it may cause the M3 to lose a few tenths of second on the race track.

Eibach Pro with 15F/12R - very similar to stock in terms of ride and feel, and drop is subtle yet noticeable enough.

I had the Eibach Pros on with no spacers for a while and then put on the spacers. The spacers really improve the appearance and seem to make the car feel more planted through the corners.

if thats what you want, then you should probably look at Dinan or Eibach springs

Thanks fella's, keep the info comming. I know without hard track times, data and lots of test drivers opinions it's gonna be a bit hard to get cold facts on this but a good feeling of either going with an alteration or keeping it stock will come out from gathered comments from everyone.

BMW spent lots of time and effort engineering the suspension on their Ms.

I highly doubt we can improve the handling on it, but if you just want a lower look, then Eibach is probably the way to go.

For springs, based on your description, the H&R Sport Springs are the way to go. These will firm up the suspension and lower the car without being too low or impractical for daily use.

You can pair them with a set of H&R TRACK+ Spacers, I recommend 12mm front and 15mm rear with the factory wheels.

This is the exact reason why I may hold off on getting springs and spacers. I mean I like the lowered look, but I don't think I like it enough if it's going to degrade the handling and performance in even the slightest of ways.

Of course if you go for some of the good coilover setups you can adjust the cosmetic part and improve on performance. But that's a bit more money than just springs and spacers

Yeah....But that's basically gonna be suspension "surgery" for my M3. Springs/spacers would be more acceptable, not only because of price, but because they aren't really too much of a major change. Regardless, I may skip any suspension mods at the time being.

What you are looking for is exactly what I was looking for. I went with Dinan. No complaints. In a perfect world, maybe it would be a few millimeters lower to look better, but I've had a couple very minor scrapes pulling out of driveways and such so taking real world practicallity into account (it's an everyday drive) it's low enough for me. It firmed up the ride just enough to notice, like EDC in 'comfort' now feels like EDC in 'normal' did before.

+1 - Yep - Perfect synopsis.

If you just want function and only want springs then get the Dinan springs.

If you want pure looks with questionable performance increases, get either H&R or RDsport.

Never rode in the Eibachs, but I hear they are more comfortable than H&R/RDsport.

sounds like Dinan and 18/15mm spacers F/R sounds like the optimal set up from what everyone is saying for performance 1st and looks second. Am I on track here? Thanks,

If it were me I'd get 15/12. I think 15 in the rear looks a bit overdone.

But wouldn't you want to keep the spacing even all around the car. 15/12 may look better, but it won't be evenly spaced out and may not handle accurately. What do you think?
