well...on one hand its not a car every high school kid can afford and certainly 2-3K's on it dont seem too bad....its just that i always ask myself as to why the car is for sale (again) after such low milage...i think its a bigger risk buying a pure sports car used than it is with the M3. maybe one cant afford the insurance or they just dont like the car...

either way though, i think if u keep your eyes open, used purchase shouldnt be a big deal considering you probably would save almost $10K

keanu1 you can buy a second hand M3 E92 from Germany with absolutely no problem. You have to buy it from a BMW dealer though. Are you already bored with your 525d E60 and want an M3 E92 instead of it ? Most of the E92 M3's that are at BMW dealers in Germany are good cars without any problems. Most of them are showroom cars or demo cars but don't think that they were all forged like they do in our country ( Romania) with demo cars.

Uh...good luck finding a second-hand car. Seems like you'd be better off getting one new because I dont think there will be many used ones less than 6 months into the car's production cycle, and if they are out there they won't be offered at much of a discount.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

In the UK for example, there are many M3's unsold. The dealers cannot get rid of them. The reports of long waiting lists are a myth. It appears BMW priced the M3 too high, OR people are waiting for the M-DCT gearbox.

According to a poster on another forum I frequent an ex-demonstrator went through BCA auction last week. It had done 2200 miles, and went for 46,500 GBP, which is about 10,000 GBP below list. It went through auction because they simply couldn't sell it. Even at a massive amount below list price.

The situation in Germany, a similar market to the UK, is unlikely to be any different.

Look http://ecom.bmwgroup.com/ecom32gahp/...3?process=uvse

There you will find all BMW cars that are from BMW dealers in Germany. Select Sprachwahl in the left menu and then select english as a language and start looking. You will find lots of E92 M3's. Germany is full of M3 E92's. Or you can go to http://www.mobile.de and select English as a language and search for M3 E92's and find hundreds of them. The situation here in Europe isn't like in the US. If you want a second hand BMW M3 you can go to Germany to buy one. But the waiting list at our dealers is big although that is why instead of waiting you can go to Germany and buy a second hand one.

@edit : The prices you will find there are in EURos.

My local dealer gave me a test drive of one of the red UK demonstrators, it was sold and going out the week after at full list and even after getting their 2008 coupe allocation they can't meet all their orders for now, so some dealers are fairing better than others in the UK

I stand corrected. I went to www.mobile.de and did a search and yes, there was 1 E92 M3 that was used. Just one, though.

Why are you waiting another 7 months for your car then?? Surely where you live should be exaclty the same situation??

Quote from Mofomat on another thread - Allocation of 8 presets on i-drive?

I was wondering how the few M3 owners have allocated the 8 preset buttons for the i-drive?

Starting to think about little things like this as I'm only 7 months away from taking delivery of my new M3.

Because I'm waiting for the DCT gearbox, AND I don't want to sell my Z4M until it's one year old.

However, Holland is quite different to Germany in that the cars are much more expensive and there is a much smaller market, so they don't import anywhere near as many M3's as they sell in Germany.

You should have no problem... just get it looked at by certified Mech before buying!

The base price is. However Dutch residents have to pay a luxury tax called BPM on cars which makes them very expensive compared to other countries (although not quite as bad as Denmark), and hence the market is quite small for luxury cars.

People exporting to other countries from Holland don't pay the BPM.

When I did the same search, all but one of the cars shown were new. Three of those show registration...2 in 11/07 and 1 in 8/07. Was the car even out yet? I thought it was just released in Europe...not even out in the US for months.

OK fair enough. I guess people arent liking the car so much if they're selling them with just a few thousand kilometers on them...or are those all demos?
