My first M3

After a bit of research and some hunting around, I finally picked up my first M3 on the weekend. A massive thanks to everyone on this forum who helped me out with advice and info, it was a huge help and was very much appreciated.

Interestingly enough I ended up buying the first car I had enquired about. It was originally way over priced, but managed to get them down quite a bit (still not enough), however the car was exactly (and I mean exactly) what I was after. So figured is was worth paying a bit extra.

The car is a 2011 Jerez Black E90 with ~13,500kms. Came with DCT, Competition Pack, Individual Audio and a few other options which were on my nice to have list.

Haven't been able to spend much time with it yet, but am already finding heavy traffic more frustrating than I did in my A4 (just want to keep putting that right foot down) and I am definitely taking more notice of where petrol stations are!

Looking forward to getting to know the dynamics of the car better. Took a crappy iPhone pic this morning, will try and post some better ones shortly.

I am sure mods will be coming at some stage, however for the moment I am just planning on enjoying the car in stock form. I have been driving turbo charged all-wheel drive cars for the last 15 years (except for a short period where I was driving my wife's civic as we only had one car - although it did have a custom exhaust on it, so at least it sounded ok), so I figure the stock RWD V8 should keep me interested for a while ........ should.

Thanks very much. My old car was black, so was originally thinking about getting a different colour. I then saw the Jerez black in the flesh and absolutely had to have it.

I'm the same, however I limited my modifications to cosmetic, in particular a little more Carbon Fiber (never hurt any one!) plus dropping it slightly with some H&R springs (thanks to DaveDee).

Looking forward to your first mod... SportsBet has you spending in 2 months!

Congrats on the new car. Looks real clean. Mods will be coming soon. We all plan just to enjoy the car in "stock" form. That's what we say hoping we actually believe it.

I have no doubt you are right, let's see how long I can hold out.

Had my first taste of driving in the wet this morning (for those not in Melbourne it was easily the worst morning we have had this year weather wise). Very ...... interesting

Only been a few days, but still loving the sound in the garage when I start the car of a morning. Apparently it is also acting as a good alarm for the kids

Thanks. It has black interior, which I think works really well.

Will be posting more photos soon, just need to find a day when I am home when it is light outside, but not pouring with rain.

Quick question. The auto start/stop on my car never seems to kick in. I know that it only kicks in when certain conditions are met, however I am sure it should have happenned by now. I also don't get anything appear on the dash to indicate that it didn't activate either. Is this normal, or is it likely that it is either not working or been coded out?

Thanks
