New Exhaust
Hey guys, recently I straight piped my e92 completely knowing that it was going to be crazy loud and drone dramatically. So now I am looking into buying an actual exhaust system and wanted to know if you guys thought that the systems that are out such as Eisenmann, Meisterschaft, and RPi would drone as much as the straight pipe method.
I'm asking this because although I love the sound of the exhaust, the drone is way too much for highway driving. I know I can just downshift to get rid of the drone but I would rather not. If there is a system that is decently loud, and doesn't drone AS MUCH then I would definitely be interested in getting it. Thanks guys any help is greatly appreciated CM3 |

I know there's a ton of threads regarding exhaust with drone, but I am just wondering what people thought would be a good exhaust that drones less compared to the straight pipe method. If the systems out there drone just as much then I might as well just take my pick at any exhaust. Thank you though for your help lol

Just an option but I had an axle back exhaustwhich droned like a mofo, so I switched to the OEM Exhaust Mod, I love it. Great sound with no drone what so ever. But no performance out of it.....

Thank you guys and I have been looking at the gintani race also so if it does indeed drone less than the straight pipe I will probably end up picking that system.

Yea i looked into the exhaust mod but I would like to get some performance boost out of the system. Does anyone know what performance gains I could expect from the gintani race?

just a muffler nothing basically but full catless gintani race will yield you the most gains around 20-30whp

or catless OEM w/ OEM exhaust mod, keeping the secondary cats. Should net you all the performance gains with no drone and minimal smell.

Almost anything will drone less than straight pipes.
My suggestion would be Eisenmann Sport with a Challenge Race xpipe.

Gintani race is loud, and does drone but less so than straight pipes. Gintani sport is still loud (not as much as race) but the drone is less obviously as well. Its a beautiful
Sound though in my opinion |

Run 2 or 4 resonators in the x-pipe if it currently has no resonators or cats. Dinan and Borla run 4 resonators and are reasonable in sound. If running 2 regular or high flow cats, substitute them for 2 resonators (i.e., 2 cats plus 2 resonators is about like no cats and 4 resonators in terms of noise).
