Is the car here or still in transit? And did you put down a deposit when you ordered the car? Peake can be tough to negotiate with as they know they are the only game in town! I got a very good deal after threatening to take my business elsewhere (Houston or through one of the online dealers on this forum). My M3 was also the fifth BMW I have purchased through them so that helped as well.

Being near the end of production also works in their favor a bit as they know you likely can't go and order through someone else. Good luck and look forward to seeing another M3 around town!

I have not ordered or put a deposit down.. The funny thing is I went to Peake last week with my gf as she is looking to get the 3 hybrid and I got the itch! lol I wasn't even in the market for a new car! But I just sent him an email and let him know that I didn't like the deal and that I wasn't really looking to buy a new car, but if the deal is right i will jump on it.. So hopefully he might try to make something happen.. But I might have to look to Houston or Dallas myself.. Thanks for the help!

$832 must be not including tax? otherwise that is impossible on a 36 mo lease. OP is probably quoting price with tax included.

^ Yes, as I recall from the one lease I had several years ago, in Louisiana we pay tax as part of the monthly payment...

Well you have the key components in there, MF and residual. The only other thing is fee's they add in. Your money factor is the BMW rate for that month I believe.

My situation is probably worse and I'm not sure if now I should buy or hope I can negotiate lease buyout.

6578.78 due on delivery
$6300 security deposit
MSRP 75,275
Net Cap Cost: 71,614
Buyout 46,670
MF .00078
Payment: $853.84

Yes. I think these sheets are intended to confuse cause it takes me forever to figure out how they invent these breakdowns.

$6300 is the security deposit
$1668 total of BS fee's
$854 first mo payment

$8822 Total down

$2250 lease rebates

$6572 at delivery

because I'm running out of options and time.

Mainly I just want to know if I should buy instead of lease at this point based on others lease buyout experiences.

that doesn't sound too bad with msd which drops your mf down. so, based on your mf=.00078 x 2400, your interest rate is 1.872% which is pretty good. your residual is a little high but if you're not buying it, then it's non-issue. as far as buying vs. lease, if you can write it of for work, lease is better than buying.

of the bs fees, it sounds high. just watch out for doc fees, most places try to over charge for it. i think the going rate should be $700/750 ballpark.

good luck.

I should be able to deduct it for my sole proprietorship/LLC I'm creating, but I have to see what my CPA says on that. Why can't you write off purchase payments?

My fee's are:
MACO 400
Training 130
Cap fee 29
Acquisition fee 925
Doc fee 80

Then state taxes/fees. Residual is 62%, which is standard.

I'm still not sure if I would want to buyout at end of lease. I figure in 3 years probably want to move on, but also would like to get some cash out of the car if I could buyout and resell for more.

I opt for 10,000mi/year by the way.
That is almost exactly the same deal I have on mine

purchase payments are made up of interest and principal. The interest is an expense. The principal is an investment in an asset. The value of that asset is expensed through depreciation

don't know maco/training fees. the aqc fee is high. should be around $725. They're overcharging you on the fees. If you buy the car, you can use depreciation as a write off vs. lease, you can write off the full amount based as an expense (based of % for work vs. % total. ex. if you drive 10k/year and 5k for work, you can write of 50% for tax write off. this goes the same for insurance and gas/toll. I'm not a CPA, but that's what mine told me. also it depends on how much you make as sole prop/single owner llc.)

OP, did you get the car?

Yes, you're right. If you buy you deduct depreciation. For lease you deduct % of the "inclusion amount."
