Also would be curious to know what products you use - I just picked up some mazerna products as they seem to get good reviews and some Jet Seal as well. If you have some Swissvax wax you need to get rid of let me know! |

For polishes I'm a big fan of menzerna myself, but even Meguiars pro-line stuff is good. I'm actually looking for a better sealant than jetseal109 as it doesnt seem to last more than 3 months. Yeah swissvax crystal rock? I wish... Actually there is a good local brand sold at Autobahn detailing by the owner Frank, its very high carnuba content and goes on/off real easy. |

I have a makita rotary but man you have to be careful - I lent it to a buddy and he burned thru the clear in a few places. I have heard really good things about the Flex. I am just an amateur so the porter will be just fine for me. |

IF you guys are interested in a serious sealent/wax, my cousin imports this stuff called Autobrill from Switzerland ( I believe). You only have to use it once a year, last 15000-20000 km. Ive never offered it online before, not sure if he would be willing to sell the product or if he is the one who would apply it for you. I purchased some myself (I used to detail high end cars, and I still do some for some of my good customers). Its not cheap stuff, but it works and it lasts a LONG, LONG time. I havent waxed my car since I got it in June. And believe it or not, the water drips off of it when it rains or when i I wash it as if I waxed it yesterday. Price is usually $350-$400 for 3 stage (clay bar/compound/wax). Depending on the car and how bad it is...anyways, just throwing it out there!

the makita is a great machine in skilled hands you really shouldnt burn through clearcoats unless you leave it running on one spot or didnt properly apply polish as well as spray some lubricant or water to the pad...the key is to constantly keep it moving! but yes rotarys leave much less room for error, hence the value of a random orbital you ever check out the detailing forum Autopia? they have great professional step by step details of some nice cars... someone posted a 4 day, 50 hour detail of a Gallardo the other day! |

I troll over at Autopia all the time! I saw that - wheels off and everything. Amazing Job - cant believe how dirty it was to start off. I find the forums here offer some pretty good advice but Autopia definitely is the place to check out!

How do you like the AA ECU tune and pulley? Also, where did you get the MS filter and how do you like it? Did you notice any change in induction sound? I plan on doing these soon once car is finally out of storage.

Damn... I really wanted to hear your Eisenman live. I LOVE the tune and pulley. I would say its AMAZING and what a huge lower end power difference. 6th gear cruising at 120 I no longer need to downshift if I want to accelerate fast . 6th gear at 3k RPM has amazing pull now and doesnt feel like just an overdrive gear. If someone is limited to under 2k in performance mods I would go : ECU , Pulley and Filter as the best BANG for the buck. Oh and in answering the question above about my Macht Schnell filter... I got it from EAS who I found here on this board. When I didnt have my exhaust on I heard some additional sound but not since I put on my full system. By the way ... I didnt get to SEE Charlies E46 M3 with the Turbo but he told me it has like 700 or 800 WHP ! SICK !

No worries, Ya Im about 25 minutes away from them, but I would have come down! Glad to hear your happy with the mods I def agree with you, for under 2k in performance upgrades. the ECU/Pulley/Filter make the biggest difference. Those are 3 the mods I would say made the biggest difference and well worth every penny spent. Your right about 6th gear having enough pull to not need to downshift

Spotted a black E90 M3 (19" wheels, tint) on the way home around 4:45 on the 404/DVP southbound. He pulled up beside me and gave me the thumbs up and I did the same... I followed him for a bit and then was in front of him for a while until I lost him around Don Mills. Car looked awesome and was unbelievably clean... spotless in fact.

Spotted a black E93 w/ fox red interior and Budds plates yesterday (Good Friday) at the golf range @ upper middle and ford drive. Car was pretty dirty and had the OEM 18" winters on still. Wondering if this is the same one that is always at the mall at Upper Middle and 8th? Must have taken delivery in June of last year as his license plate had the same first 4 letters as mine....

I see so many 'M's on the road these days around downtown, I wouldn't be able to remember to post it here the details. More E92s and E90s than E93 though.
Edit: I know I said I see a lot of Ms but I just saw this E93 with the licence plate: "2 COURT" anyone here? Last edited by Lagos; 04-12-2009 at 02:14 PM.. |

You're just lucky I caught you near the end of the DVP or else all you would have seen is a red blur going by at high speed...
