I've had Magnaflow mufflers for 10 days now, and I've yet to bring myself to swap them out with the stockers. A little more sound would be great, but I don't want it crazy loud. Yes, it's a performance car, but I have other cars to be loud in. I'm too worried that I'll regret it. I LOVE that the BMW's are whisper-quiet cruising down the road, and I don't know that I want to give that up. I refuse to pay $1,500+ for a cat-back. That's ridiculous. I'll blow my money on wheels/tires, springs, and other appearance mods.

I can't wait to hear your review!! I live driving distance from the AA shop and everyday I have to fight not to drive down there and do an install of the exhaust lol.

My last two cars I have modified the exhaust. I find the stock M3 just a little too quiet for me at idle. I like the gurgle when you let the clutch out and rev to 3500 rpm on cars with after market exhaust - not into a whaling the thing which is where the M3 exhaust really shines. I had Ruf exhaust on my 911 which was my favorite mod next to the Ruf wheels and on my Range Rover, I installed the Overfinch muffler package which gives a nice blub blub blub (sp?). The RS4 when you put on the "S" button tones down quite nicely so I didn't do anything to it.
Ordered a Stebro today (who's largest market is Ferarri)....which will be stainless and have a nice look. I will re-use the CC and tips because I think the rear end on these cars are awesome - I never was crazy about seeing the muffler though. I am told a slight gain in HP ( I was told +- 4%) and a noticeable change in the overall feel of the car. Spoke to my sales rep at the dealer who was the guy who dialed me into Stebro. It sounds pretty nice.... My kick at the can.

The AA sounds awesome. Just what I wanted louder at low rpms and high. Sounds real mean when you blip the throttle now if you have a 6 mt. Has some drone at 1500 to 2000 rpms but, doesn't bother me at all I kinda like the sound. Otherwise at cruising speed it sounds just like stock. Overall I would have to say the AA exhaust still has the stock sound but just a little louder and meaner.... I also got the AA ssk and its just perfect. SSK ftw

I don't see many of these driving around Washington; I think I'm solo in my home town. Kinda nice. Love the car; you? |
