Finally Ordering my new M3
So i'm hopefully going to order my m3 after tomorrow! but i need some advice!!! I am thinking i want black but i dont know if i should go with Jet black or the jerez black!! Is the jet black shiny? (i want a shiny black not a dull one). I have looked at some pics online but its soo hard to tell which one is nicer because i feel it depends on the camera and lighting!!!
Also, i dont know if i should upgrade my sound system! is it really worth $1900???? Help |

Can't answer the color question as I have Space Grey, but yes, I recommend the enhanced sound. Still not the greatest system, but I'm pleased I got it.
Whatever you decide, you will be happy! |

You should get Jerez black. The swirl marks on a flat black like Jet black will drive you insane. It only looks good in the showroom and then after waxing it 4 times the swirl marks will drive you nuts. Trust me.

I really can't stand when people make some utterly idiotic comment like you when they have no idea what they're saying and just say things to say them... Premium sound is 100x better than the crap standard sound in the 3-series. Just go listen to it.

if you're getting the convenience package or nav, and don't plan to do a high-end aftermarket setup, the premium sound is tough to beat

Could argue whether $1900 is worth it...but unless you're tone deaf...the premium sound is most definitely better than stock.
You can always turn it down/off if ya wanna hear the engine...but ya can't turn it up if you don't have it.

I have had Jet Black on 2 cars before and I can safely tell you that you would rather have Jerez Black. Jerez is going to be shinier as it is a metallic paint and can exhibit blue/purple hues in some light. However this looks really nice and gives it character. The Jet Black is your basic black and can get swirls. The sound system; I was glad i got it especially in a convertible since there is more outside noise with the top down and I can tell the difference as my old car had the stock sound system. The Carbon Leather trim looks really nice and I have it on my current M3.

Enhanced sound is DEFINITELY better than stock. Is it worth the extra $$... well that's a personal decision.
Carbon fiber trim with fox red interior is absolutely stunning. I get more compliments on this interior color combo than anything else about the car. Has your sister even seen this combo in person?

You can hear the engine when you want and the Premium Sound when you want to listen to some music. Once you break the $60k mark on a car $2k here or there is really not worth arguing over. I can def tell a difference but I love music.

Agree with comments about the upkeep on the jet black but it's such a classic color. Maybe split the diff and go with Space Grey, also another classic color and it always looks good, rain or shine. And as for the sound system.....get the enhanced version as most of the posters have said. Well worth it.

Since you asking for advice... my advice to you, don't go with black color, get SG instead,- it is much more fun! Here is my SG M3 ZCP Thread, check it out: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=422151 Enhanced Sound is SOOOOO MUCH BETTER... MUCH MORE POWERFULL than Logic-7... how could anyone even compare the 2?

Don't get Leather... get Speed Cloth,- no extra charge for Speed Cloth, with money saved, get Premium Sound. Problem solved.
If you saw and felt Speed Cloth in person, you would not want leather Speed Cloth now comes EXTENDED all the way up,- looks sooo much better! Feels lighter than leather, firmer than leather... and you still get leather contour of seats,- best of both worlds! Sorry all leather fans, don't hate me... not here to make enemies, but Speed Cloth makes much more sense for performance car like M3! Can't really picture Mercedes with Cloth Seats, but it does fit M3 perfectly! Speed Cloth is not your ordinary fabric you find in ordinary cars, - it is a high performance material made for BMW M3!

Speed cloth seats don't look so bad but the cloth door panels are just awful and totally out of place on a car costing well over 60k. They look straight out of an 20k VW.

You are so wrong with this statement... this fabric is so high end, makes those door panels look absolutely awesome!

This is pretty much exactly whats on order for me:
Go Jerez Black with Fox Red + ZCP Can't really comment on the premium sound but to me its not worth it. I've had aftermarket setups all my life so the Premium Sound will not be enough gauranteed. Just remember its all subjective. If it sounds good to you, then get it!
