New addition to my garage...anyone want an M roadster?

Well, I've been missing the raucus, rough, and loud american muscle i've had over the years, so i've finally gone back.

the 1 has me spoiled with great power, poise and a quiet smooth interior. While my 06 z4m is a great car, has better 'feel' than the 1 for the road and to fool around with, it's just not 'over the top' in any way, power, noise, look, etc.

So I was thinking, how much do i want to spend, how much car do i want to buy, and came across this.
05 C6 vette, 4200 miles (yes 4K), headers, exhaust, and procharger with the associated goodies (565 rwhp)...a guys garage queen, show car. Car is perfect in and out and I couldn't buy this kind of fun for anywhere near the kind of money. Plus not only is it obnoxiously loud, it's also obnoxiously yellow. I'll see if this gets it out of my system.

The 1 is staying as a daily, but anyone interested in an 06 interlagos M roady, carver, bluetooth, heated seats, xenons, 28k miles, CPO?

Vettes are certainly fast enough. A supercharged vette should be silly fast. One of the guys at work told me recently he had his stock, as in not supercharged, Vette up to 165mph. I am not condoning doing this, just commenting on the potential for speed.

Bimmers make speed a different was - as in smoothly - that doesn't always feel as fast or fun to some (seems to include you). I don't know of a bimmer as fast as a supercharged Vette, however. I like the refined "bimmer way" but the big motor mustangs of my youth were fun, in a different way, too.

Sorry forgot the link for the toady. Just had a few minutes to post before.

I agree the smoothness of the BMW detracts a bit. My e36 m3 and z3m were more 'fun' on the street. Than the much faster 135 and moderately faster z4m.

When I started my search I wanted something raw and a bit unrefined. Started looking at vipers 996 gt3 and the vetted. Problem was I kind of wanted to keep the toy money at about 30 and while she cost me 32.5. Its got the major stuff done and now 5k miles thanks to my drive from chicago last night

While a 135 is topped out at 155 a C6 Corvette is not near its bone stock limit of 186 or 190, depending on year.

Another welcome to the C6/135 owners club. They make a very nice pair. With your 05 just be careful with wheel hop under hard acceleration and back off instantly if get it to hop. The 05, unlike all later C6 years, had a weaker rear differential housing. It can't take wheel hop. Also, the forum of choice is:

Good luck with the vette.

ya that's my one concern, esp with the blower.

i might just look for a c5 rear diff and make a mount and swap it before i tear it up. Definitely not going to track before i shore up the rear end. the problem i understand is that i need a c6 diff and tail for the trans which is pricey, vs simply a c5 diff with a little custom fabbed bracket which won't be expensive.

Not my first vette, first c6, have had a pair of c5s, parents still have one as well. been on corvetteforum since 02 and ls1tech since 99 or so, lots of great info there with some really great gear heads. actually found this car on corvetteforum and went out to chicago to get it.

btw wanted white, but this was a deal i couldn't pass up. maybe my next one will look like yours...

i can understand the collectability of the 04 z06, but while i find the interior of the c6 tolerable, the c5 is just plain poor, reason enough for me to grab the c6.

I can't believe how many guys have these things and garage/car show them and have so few miles on it. I just can't wait to drive my cars; my days of polishing and parking in the middle of nowhere are gone. GM/BMW/Porsche built lots of cars...so I just want to drive it and then when i wear it out, get another one...no value in 'saving it' for me.

That's gonna be my new philosophy as well. But to buy...why not get one of the garage queens to start!

ENJOY man!

Check these guys out. This is only one of the options but there are others that they can help you with, if the time comes. They are popular on Corvette forums. 05 guys usually are very pleased.
