yeah the pipe with the wool looking stuff around it was also replaced with a straight pipe but all the white hair looking stuff was placed back in the chamber

no i didn't try it without the stuffing. from what i've read, if you take the stuffing out, it will make it sound very tin can like..

I found a top notch shop in the DFW area of Texas who has worked on my cars before and can do the mod. If anyone is interested please PM me and maybe I can get us a group rate. I would like to get this done within the next two weeks. Thanks

so I went to local buky's shop today and showed them picture. he says he could do it if he crack open both upper and down side of can. Quote me for $270.00.
I couldn't do it today, cuz I have pick my daughter up soon. So exited about this mod. Do you have any idea of crack open both sides??

I used a hand grinder with a metal cutting blade. worked great and cuts it in no time.

FYI, OP said $200. I think I paid $275 for mine in Belmont, but he didn't cut the bottom of the muffler can, just the top, so it's not visible by looking under (not sure how OP's is modified).

I may be selling mine in case you want to keep your stock one intact.
