huh??? Did you try to yank it off without using something to cut at the doublestick tape? I had no issue removing mine...

The tape can only go in one area to make contact with the trunklid. That is where you put tape.

hold the spoiler up to the trunklid without tape and you will see where to apply the tape.

Just remember to NOT pull off the protective backing from the edge of the spoiler that is closest to the back window.

Only pull off the backing on the surface that touches the edge of the trunklid. This way you can line up the spoiler perfectly without the spoiler touching the top of the trunklid before it makes contact on the back of the trunklid.

Just peel the back of the protective tape off the edges and make sure you can still grab them to peel them off
.
Can you be a little more clear on this. Are you saying that you shouldnt peel off the protective layer of the tape before attaching the spoiler?
Are we suppose to just peel off a slight portion of the protective layer of the tape off the edges so that when we place it, we just pull off the protective backing?

And does anyone have a more detailed picture of where to attach the tape on the spoiler, I get the part where we attach it basically at the edge closest to the rear window. But I dont know where to apply the second piece. Does it just go on the same surface/level of the first piece? or does it also go on the other surface where the spoiler is supposed to sit on the trunk first edge?

TIA

Yeah tape line was cut with floss and the spoiler was heated gently, and it was removed up inch by inch, at the very end - it snapped like a kit kat.

No they don't fit. You need to order E90 version.

I found it. The part is 51622159805 and fits both E90 and E92. E92 is $460 while E90 is $440.

No, they're not interchangeable.
Tischer made E90/E92 spoilers in one menu item but they're actually different part #s.

What's the model number of the 3M tape everyone has been using? What is the width of the tape?

1/2 and 1/4 inch varieties. 3M automotive tape, red backing. Search amazon...you'll find them there.

Just curious, anyone done this with the E90 spoiler? It looks a little different underneath. I might give it a shot, if worse comes to worse, I can take it off and betalink it.

I have E90M3 and installed performance spoiler 2 days ago with just double side tapes. It works well and all surface of the spoiler (with tape) is contacting the trunk lid.

I have about 1.5 rolls of 3M tapes.
(I installed splitters and spoiler together. I used full 2 rolls and about 1/4 roll of extra)
