Design Differences Amoung Aftermarket Exhausts
I'm doing the usual research trying to select what exhaust (cat-back) I want for my E92 (reading forum pages, listening to videos, etc) and I'm curious, what makes the different aftermarket systems designs sound the way they do? Near the top of the list are the Eisenmann race and sport and they look the same on the outside, whats the difference in construction? More/less holes in the tubes, different piping inside, different packing? How about the other manufacturers?
I know all that really matters is sound and, to a lesser extent for a cat back, power gain, but this is more for my curiosity. If people could chime in with descriptions/pictures into the tail pipe of systems they have it would be very much appreciated! |

The Race version is meant to be more free flowing and has less baffling than the Sport version. The Eisenmann exhausts sound absolutely ridiculous when fully opened up! If you're looking for an absolutely over-the-top setup, Eisenmann is probably what you want. Check out their amazing Eisenmann 4x80mm Inconel Alloy 625 Performance Ehxuast! This the same inconel material that's used on Formula 1 cars' exhaust systems! It's amazingly lightweight and withstand absurd temperatures! |
