"broken" air intake temperature sensor..okay to use?
When pulling the IAT sensor out of the OEM manifold to switch it over to my ESS manifold, the white plastic tip broke. I broke the remaining portion off, so that it wouldn't come apart in my manifold and find it's way into my cylinders, but I was wondering if it was okay to run this sensor, either long term or temporarily until I can buy a new one?
I didn't take a picture, but check the link below to see a pic of the sensor. The part that is missing is the white plastic tip, though the electrical part underneath that (which I am assuming is the actual sensor portion) is fine. https://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-M3-S65_4.0L/ES34444/

Dude, I would say it probably doesn't matter, but I have no idea what the evil BMW geniuses' design really is for that. You can try it, but for a $40 part I would just wait and put in a new one. Not worth whatever trouble it may cause for a weekend drive.
