Gintani Twin Turbo E9X M3 Kit Dyno Graphs and Video

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hello,

We appreciate everyone's incredible patience with us developing our Gintani Twin Turbo E9X M3 Kit. We figured we may as well start a new thread as our previous one has a lot of clutter in it. We are working very hard to finish production parts and release the kit by the end of summer.

We took our TT E90 M3 to a local dyno, Specialty Z, where they use a Dyno Jet. The car is currently running at 7.5 PSI, 91 octane, stock motor, and stock MSS60 ECU.

STD Corrected:

SAE Corrected:

We did a comparison from our Twin Turbo Kit versus our Supercharger Kit, both at the same peak boost of 7.5 PSI:
  • From 3200 RPM to 4500 RPM – The Twin Turbo makes 60+ WHP more vs SC.
  • From 4500 RPM to 7000 RPM – The Twin Turbo makes 90+ WHP more vs SC.
  • From 7000 RPM to 8300 RPM – The Twin Turbo makes 50+ WHP more vs SC.
  • From 3700 RPM to 4600 RPM – The Twin Turbo makes 80+ WTQ more vs SC.
  • From 5500 RPM to 6200 RPM – The Twin Turbo makes 100+ WTQ more vs SC.
  • From 6200 RPM to 7200 RPM – The Twin Turbo makes 60+ WTQ more vs SC.
  • From 7200 RPM to Redline – The Twin Turbo makes 40+ WTQ more vs SC.

Car and Modifications:
  • 2008 BMW M3
  • Gintani Twin Turbo
  • 7.50 PSI Boost (Verified)
  • Both CAT Delete
  • Gintani CATLESS Cross-Pipe
  • Gintani Race Exhaust Rear Section
  • 91 Octane
  • 6MT
Conditions (Dynojet Weather Station):
  • Temperature:: 83.03 degrees F
  • Atmospheric pressure: 29.09 inHg
  • Humidity: 31%
  • Density Altitude: 3826 Ft.
  • SAE Correction: 1.027
  • STD Correction: 1.056
  • Uncorrected: 1.000
Results:
  • SAE Corrected: 596whp @ 8080 RPM, 428wtq @ 6170 RPM

Took a ride in this beast

I had the pleasure of stopping by a few tuner and enthusiast shops in the area, one of which was Gintani. I met with Alex and his brother both of which I got say are very down to earth and true enthusiasts. Alex then took me around the shop and saw how they CNC parts in house and build exhausts one at a time. I later stumbled onto the twin turbo car and I got to say looking at the engine bay, you'd never know it was a TT M3 (very clean setup, similar to their supercharger layout). One thing to note is that the tune was written by Alex which I thought was cool and no boost controller was used (to my knowledge). Alex took me for a ride and all I can say is WOW. The torque and power is instant and phenomenal. The car had no weird behavior, idle, temps, all were good. I have a VF650 kit and I love it, the hardware is excellent and the support I have received is as well; it also pulls like a train, but a twin turbo S65 just another beast altogether. I want to thank Alex for taking the time to talk cars, the tour, and the ride. Anyone bashing them on this effort doesn't really realize the effort it took to bring this into fruition.

Wonderful update on the TT kit, can't wait to see a parts layout of what the kit will contain and price. Gintani has really been giving the E9X community a lot of great news the past few days.

Holy Moly, nice tq numbers, flat HP up top, very very nice.

Can you run stock or HFC with this kit, or does it require catless setup?
Is there a kit with less boost options ie 5.5psi? or can you adjust the boost as needed and the maps will alter?

look great!

These seems quite interesting, great work on making it happen. I'm hoping though that the exhaust sound is just the system, as I am quite turned off by that part. The shot in the engine compartment is nice though!

That's awesome and it is amazing to get this kit finally out to market. I smell built motors may be an important aspect, however. Time will tell.

How is the response compared to your 650 kit? Lag is inevitable with turbos, so how does this kit stack up?

I was a passenger and wasn't sure when Alex was on the throttle but there seemed to be very little to none, power was just there and the torque was very very nice. There are inherent differences between a S/C and turbo, something one must consider when making a purchase (many aspects, don't want to cloud the thread; thoroughly enjoyed TT S65 and hats off to Alex for pulling this off, impressive to say the least)

This is looking *quite* tasty!

You didn't mention what kind of exhaust setup is being run by both cars in the above comparison.
