Adam's car wash never disappoints. Keeps the paint nicely lubed and smells pretty good too. The 1 gallon is one of the best deals for someone who washes their car regularly.

Am i the only one that gets excited when i see a car completely drenched in suds like that?

How do the suds stay on the car like that after application? It is just the foam cannon set to the thickest (maximum suds) setting or is it because of the soap used? I currently have the following set up:
Foam Gun
Chemical Guys Maxi-Suds
And i can get the car the completely covered in suds, but it runs off relatively quick.

What is the purpose of foaming a car like that?

It's part of the prerinsing stage of the wash. You foam the car down and let the foam dwell allowing any loose dirt to be removed before going over the paint with a wash mitt. It's easy, looks cool, and really helps in minimizing scratches IMO. Ever since I started foaming my car, the car has definitely come out much cleaner in the end than it did before

can the soap bucket be eliminated, and just use a water bucket to rinse the wash mit, while using the foam for the soap? or is it foam, rinse, then proceed with regular wash process?

you can do the foam then rinse.... then foam again and wash traditional, you will only need 1 bucket as the soap will already be on the car, have a bucket handy to rinse your wash mitt.

I have an older (6 to 7 years old) Karcher pressure washer. Will this foam cannon attach to that?

I bought a foam cannon last year that attaches to a water hose and I can not get it to create a foam that will stick to the car like that. By the time I put the hose down and grab my wash mit, most of the foam has dripped off the car. What's the secret?

the secret is in the foam and the foam cannon its going to create a thicker foam that will help cling on to the paint.

there are adapters that you can buy for the foam cannon.

if anyone is thinking about doing this, i would not hesitate and just order from phil. NOTHING but great customer service.

(I had the MTM bottle crack open at the neck just minutes into using it and after contacting him, I had a replacement on the way)

And this makes car detailing very fun! I used to complain about the bucket method

I don't remember the brand/kind of soap I use but the foam cannon is a Wolfgang Foamaster gun. I bought that one because I thought it was a good product.

I must be missing or doing something wrong with the adjustment stem on the gun and therefore I'm not getting a thick foam that sticks to my car.

you may want to try something else or change up your dilution.

Might this have to do with using a foam gun connected to the hose versus using a foam cannon attached to a pressure washer?

Wondering this as well. I don't really want to have to break out the pressure washer just to wash the car.

In a sad attempt to get more suds, I don't even dilute the soap in the container. I just pour in the soap, connect up the hose, and fiddle with the ratio stem in an attempt to get maximum suds.

yes it totally does. only a pressure washer will create foam that sticks to the paint like that. foam guns will not produce the same result but imo can still get the same job done

In my experience, the foam created from a hose only connection to the foam gun does NOT stick well compared to what I have seen from pics that have used a pressure washer. Just sucks that you have to use a device that is really not needed to get better foam.

Not doing anything wrong. I got the same setup as you (with Einzett soap) and it runs right off the car too. So I usually have a mitt on my left, while I use the foam gun with my right. Far from ideal.

I've got a small Karcher PW too. Will have to try to find a foam gun for it.

totally agree. the water that runs through my house is pretty meh so upgrading to a pressure washer was worth it for me.otherwise i've been washing my cars for awhile now with just a hose
