The reason you puked so much is because you had alcohol in your system. Don't mix the two, you're 99.9% guaranteed to puke since you don't smoke often.

Exactly! OP stated he only took one rip from a gravity bong. Directly after your rip, most likely you were coughing uncontrollably?? Sound about right? If so this is what made it harder for you to breathe (feeling of closed a closed throat) and that leading to the beginners paranoia making things feel a little worse than they actually are. Given your track record I still would not try and smoke again... Personally I'd rather take a couple shots and a have a drink instead.

Listen to ideliver. You don't need weed. It may have been spiced with something other than just marijuana. If you eat it, you might get an allergic reaction that way as well.

Picture yourself ten years from now. One vision is you smoking weed (assuming without an allergy). The alternate vision is you not smoking weed. In which vision are you most likely to be better off?

Agreed. Depending on the volume of the apparatus you just don't jump into shit like that. You gotta be ready. Gravity hits can devastate even the most veteran of smokers, particularly if the weed is above average quality.
But from what you describe it sounds like you have a bigger problem with weed than just being a "lightweight."
