WWYP: Certified 2013 E92 ZCP/DCT w/ 11k miles
What would you pay for this car?
Certified 2013 E92 ZCP, DCT, and every option available. Car has 11,000 miles. Listed for $63,000. It's been on the lot a few weeks. Cosmetically, the car appears to be perfect. The interior is also flawless as far as I can tell. In many ways, it looks and feels like a new car. I have been looking at low to mid-mileage 2011s, mostly E90s, in the low to mid-$50k. But I test drove this one today and very much enjoyed it. What do you think I could realistically offer with a straight face? Edit: For the record, I don't dig the "///M" badge on the grille and would remove it the second I bought it. |

Car looks good. It's certified until 2018-2019 or until you reach 100,000 miles? If so, I would probably begin negotiating with the dealer if it's the car you want. The mileage is very high for a 2013. Offer 59K and see if they move off the price. Maybe you can get down to 61K.
Good Luck! |

Thanks, guys.

I agree the mileage is high for a 2013. That's maybe the only "blemish." But the car is immaculate. I really didn't anticipate spending over $60k, but I had ruled out anything after 2011 at the same time. And yet, a lot of the fully loaded 2011 cars I've been looking at are in the high $50k with more milage. |

Just realized I never updated this thread. Ended up getting the car for $61k. A CPO would have added $3k to the price. Since it's so new, I decided against it. (But can always add before the factory warranty expires.)
My plan worked like a charm: My soon-to-be wife was on the fence about it until she test drove it. She could not stop smiling! She drove it harder than I did! It was pretty much a done deal at that point. But I've created a monster: Now she wants to drive it instead of her beloved Z! (Which is an amazing car in its own right.) Thanks for the advice guys! |
