What did you hear OC ///M ?
I heard from my CA that mine should be at the dealer on the 8th but he said their system is usually over optimistic so we'll see. Also, here's a good description of everything that happens at VPC: http://www.thedieseldriver.com/2010/02/bmw-vdc/ Last edited by ZRobbM; 08-05-2010 at 08:37 PM.. |

So I just heard mine is supposed to be arriving at the dealer tomorrow but isn't guaranteed because the trucks often make 3-4 stops for deliveries. I'm trying to be patient but DAMN this wait is killing me!!
Any updates from anyone else? |

my car still says "En Route" on bmwusa.com I think because it will be stuck in customs for 2 weeks while cocaine sniffing dogs dirty up my seats looking for something that isn't there

The patient, the paitienter, and the patientest
^ Dude, you'll have your car and it will still say "en route". The website is a far cry from being a "real-time" information center...you know this.
The link ZRobbM posted explained it well: First away go the PCD and non-ED cars (This will always take a few days minimum depending on your p/u location-we are dealing with union longshoreman and teamsters here people ) Folks waiting for these cars can be considered patient. Next, depending on both random luck and customs productivity rate that week, the Euro Delivery cars are run through (they better have white gloves on) and this will usually end up taking a couple of weeks before the car gets to the dealer. You def need to be able to exercise more patience if you are an ED customer. Finally, for those of us who choose the insane ED+PCD combo, add in all of the time above plus another week or two for coordinating with the PCD's schedule... I just keep tricking myself by hoping that I see the car by the end of September, that way anything that happens before that is like a win.

I just got my hopes up when it landed on shore. Wish I had it for my 5 day vacation next week. My ford Taurus rental is driving me batty. It's like a grandpa car. Oh well, back to reality that it will be another 2 weeks at least

Status finally changed to "at the prep center".
Picasso: I'm getting a signal from my car...it appears we passed through customs inspection only moments ago.
I will have more detailed updates for you soon.

Finally picked up mine last night! It was COMPLETELY worth the wait and in retrospect it made it that much more fun.
Here's a few pics. Enjoy your weekend guys! I know what I'll be doing.. |

Who called you? Your SA? ...or BMWNA? I have heard nothing on mine. Now I actually hope I don't get it till after Sep.1 so that BMWNA will make another payment for me...

You must be leasing for them to make a payment no? It's in the prep center and my SA emailed me today and said they should have it this week. Shooting for Thursday.
I had to make my first payment and I don't have my car and gave them shit. So hopefully they make my 2nd payment.

@ZRobb:10 miles? I wonder where they went. Your car looks great BTW.
@Picasso: Congratulations! You must be out enjoyoing it because we haven't seen any PICS YET! Also, Did you find any more miles on the car from when you left it at the drop-off in Munich? I think I am officially the last one, still waiting for delivery from the Elektra. I'll bet by the time I receive mine the ship will have already made it back to the States, dropped off and headed back to Bremerhaven.
