Mosport Today!

The Tower that has been a Landmark at Mosport for at least 40 years is gone! The new tower will be ready for the spring. All to make room to have more Pit stalls for Nascar.

1st time being there was in 1963 for the Players 200 with my dad & sister. The crowds were much larger back then than seen in recent times at race weekends.I remember that it took us almost 3 hours to get out of the track at the 67 GP.

Amazing pictures! I haven't been to a race at Mosport since I lived in Oshawa while going to school. Other than being away from family I miss the water and race tracks surrounding the Big Smoke.
Maybe next year I can plan a trip home surrounding a Mosport weekend.

The concrete has to come up before any pavement goes down.

True, but if they were doing a full repave, I doubt they would carve out the concrete the way they did. It would probably be cheaper to just tear out the entire stretch of road.

Exactly - one thing to just pull the concrete out, but to just strip the paving in places, much more efficient to do it all at once.

I know they are only doing the corners and the big dip going into corner 10 over the new tunnel. In our cars we do not feel most of the bumps compared to a real race car or being on a bike. There will be lots more changes coming including a hotel very close to the track.

Then what was the point of your prior reply? The plans for the new tower, hotel etc is no new news. Rumour was that they were going to repave the whole track which does not look to be the case. No sense in pretending you know what is going on.
