MP3 player recomendation

Just kill my 3 yr old 40GB Nomad player by static.

Accept iPod, any recommendation?
Need at list 5GB for my files. Video will be nice but not first priority.
Did any one try new Microsoft MP3 player. read few - reviews.

Yes, I can search Goggle, but user opinion 10000 better then any advertising.

I have a 20gb i-River, and I think its great. Had it for 3 years now, and never one problem. The greatest features are built in FM radio, and Optical output jack. They are kind of pricey though.

as much as i hate apple, i did get an ipod. just the best out there.

you could fit 1, maybe 2 songs on a player with 5MB memory!

you probably meant 5 GB? anyway i have the microsoft zune and its a nice player. it has a nice big screen, good playback quality, pretty decent software and has a nice scratch-resistant case. plus, its not an ipod! downside is that it doesnt have the huge accessory line ipods do. i like it though.

j.k. if you just hate apple then get the zune, its pretty kool but i still think the ipod is your best bet. get a nano if you dont need a lot of GB's. the flash memory is better as well as the battery life.
btw, why do some of you guys hate apple?

Not a good reason to avoid ipod.

Creative has a couple of MP3 players in the 30GB+ range that are pretty nice. I have an iRiver H320, I don't think they sell them anymore nice MP3 player and has video. I think the Microsoft Zune might be the best. I hate iPods as well and can't stand iTunes, I've tried it before and just gave up...

iPod is the only choice. I have an 8G nano and it is great. the 5G Ipods with video are great too (although I'd wait until after Macworld on Jan 8th in case the true video player is announced).

The Zune seems like a nail, no podcast or audiobook support, large and clunky, puts DRM on everything if you use the wifi feature, not compatible with Microsofts own plays for sure DRM....the list goes on.

I use to own a 20gb I-river and the sound quality was awesome. Definetely blew the Ipod outta the water. I tried the Sansa and it felt very cheaply made. Now i'm thinking of checking out the Gigabeat from Toshiba.
