Can't understand -- at all -- what your issues are. Wanna try to explain them again? Maybe if you're a bit more descriptive, someone may be able to help you. This board is generally pretty helpful.

This is what I think:
  1. Do you live in a warm area? it might just be the radiator fan kicking in. There might even be a rat that died in under your hood and parts of it is rubbing against smth. Try looking in the engine bay then ask someone to start the car for you.
  2. How do u notice this? Does it make a sound or do you feel a jerk?

Is this the strange transmission moving when the car goes into first gear thing since he has a M-DCT?

The E90 has HVAC vents under the front seats with holes big enough for change and stuff to fall into it. So when you stop, it slides forward. When you go, it slides back. Maybe it rattles a bit on start-up. Not sure about the E92, but is it possible there's something like a marble or change in the vent?

1. I can I only hear the noise in the morning when I start it up. It won't make that noise every time so I don't think it's a rat.

2. It feels like when it shift to 1 and complete stop I feel it right under me there a little jerk and noise to it. Something is loose and flys forward.

I've had the same thing when stopping sometime. Kind of like a large "clunk" sound. Feels like something large is sliding forward about a quarter of an inch. I just wrote it off as normal M3 sounds until something goes wrong...

I think it is normal transmission movement. I know the E46 M3 did it.

i drove around with one of the BMW Tech Guy this morning and he told me that the noise(cluck) isn't normal.

i just got a call from my Service adviser she told me they are still working on the clunk noise and going to keep the car over night. i also told her i was getting a grind noise on a cold start, i hope they can fix that issue also

Dunno about your start-up noise, but the later sounds like a tranny issue.

Keep us posted!

I heard this noise as well and it's associated with the tranny. It's definitely coming while I am in first gear and while letting out the clutch. I have the 6MT but I also heard this sound while testing the DCT.

It's a "clank-clank" kind of sound as if a few parts came loose under the car. It doesn't happen all the time and I sure hope it's normal or else we got a major recall coming.

DEFINITELY KEEP US POSTED!!!

Mine is a little rough once in a while when coming to a stop when the DCT disengages a gear. But is not really bad at all....if yours is loud, really rough, knocking, etc., I would take it in for sure.

I still think it is normal as it was in the E46 M3. Mine did it until I installed the Rogue Engineering transmission mounts which are stiffer and don't allow as much transmission movement. Perhaps your tranny mounts are messed up.

I hear these sounds every morning in my E46 ZCP M3. After the tranny warms up the sounds and the roughness goes away. You do freak out the first time you hear it, however.
