M3 to new M235 (hear me out before you judge)

I know the M3 is better and the M4 will be better, but as a daily driver on straight roads without many curves, no winter, is an M3 worth the extra cost and mpg over a M235i I ask this because my budget is 50k and I really want to try Euro delivery, and the New M4 is just going to be out of reach. I drive 95% alone, 4% with 2, have an suv and a classic convertible at home, so for my DD what do you all think.

My 11 has 35k miles and will be out of warranty next summer.

Keep the M3 because as the saying goes- they aint making any more of them. Spend some of that budget on a nice trip to Germany and tour the factory, then rent something cool and drive it all around- same difference.

OP I'm not judging, because I was thinkin the same thing! I went from a Mazda3 to my E90 ///M and the ONLY things I miss about the Mazda are the smaller size and the MPG. I'm still looking forward to many years of enjoyment from the M3, but if BMW makes a 4 door gran coupe version of the M235, I'll be standing in line with $$$ in my fist like it was 1977 and I'm gonna see Star Wars!!

Maybe lease the m235i then get M4 in a few years. I'm kind of in the same boat debating if I should get a used M3 or m235 for a few years then jump into an m4 ED. I really like the M3 with its loud & high reving s65 engine but the m4 is really more of a dream car to me mainly because it has HUD, much better fuel efficiency and looks better IMO. With that said I'm going to wait until January and make a decision from there. Hopefully we get some reviews from the mags of both cars by then

M235i looks great on paper.. have to drive it to see how it is.

It HAS to have LSD for me to even consider it though. That is a deal killer if I can't get an LSD. The LSD is what makes the M3 so much more special in handling over a regular 3 series.

M-performance LSD is offered for the M235i but no idea as far as price goes and yes I agree, LSD is a must have

I was also looking at the 235i vs my 2011 M3. I love the car on paper, but I just can't get over the aesthetics. It just doesn't work for me. If it had a better look, I'd be all over it....but I'll stick with the M

Im anxiously waiting for the M2 but since there has been no update i might have to get a M235I since my warranty is up next december. I dont judge you, its crossed my mind that with 10k spent on suspension and performance this little bugger could blast an E92 M3 on a race track or straight line. Dealer just confirmed me that LSD is an option though no word on pricing yet.

M235i looks awesome. If it fits your needs and wants, you should definitely check it out.

youre willing to sacrifice your m3 just because you want euro delivery? ive never understood the appeal of that..you go to germany to get your car? big deal. nobody i know would ever even consider doing that. just sounds unnecessary as fuck.

Euro delivery is priced 14% off which will equate to $6000-7000 on this car. Still sound ridiculous?

I would only consider adding the M235i, or maybe even the 228i depending on price of Msport and other options. Having said that, I'd only be looking to add, not replace the M3.

Unlike you, there's plenty of people that like to broaden their horizon and visit Europe. What better way than use the money you save on the car while getting a vacation of a lifetime out of it.

Unnecessary? You save some money and get a trip to Europe. Neither you nor anyone you know can see any appeal in that? Go back to your trailerpark, you backward hillbilly.

Of course, but those considering this option would view the savings on the car to justify the cost for the trip.

I wonder if European X5 owners have an option to do USA delivery at the Performance Center, lol.
