while M3s are sweet, on these drives they are common. The M5 is not

Either way, if you are able to join, you'd have blast in either.

I'm thinking we'll stay a bit more local this time. Start in Leesburg, lunch in Middleburg, take back roads the whole way, end where we started. The views on these roads are great and Middleburg is a really cool little town. Has anyone visited Middleburg? Suggestions on restaurants? I kinda like the French Hound.

Takes a lot of time to plan these things... Here's what I got so far on the route.

http://www.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF...54001&t=h&z=11

I'm going to drive it within the next week to finalize it. Any opinions? There's Winery half way through the second leg of the route. http://www.chateauobrien.com/ We can stop there for an hour or we can just continue on the backroads all the way until we arrive back at Middleburg. I don't know how many of you would be interested in Wine tasting.

not trying to speak for the masses, but i think the majority of us would like a decent restaurant that can serve large numbers w/o waiting a long time

Well the wine place would be like an hour and a half after lunch. Personally I'm not much of a wine guy but it would be a cool place to stop.

I've been thinkin about a good place to eat as well. Middleburg has one place that can really do that, Red Fox Inn. Now I can set that up, get our own room and everything. Payment would all have to be up front. Alternatively, we can all just arrive in Middleburg and each go our seperate ways as there are a lot of cool little cafes, small resturaunts and shops.

What do you think?

looked at their menu, kinda limited but i'm ok with it. I'm not hard to please - they have hamburgers so i'm good

I'm cool for setting up lunch there, but again though, don't want to speak for the masses.

If you were to let people roam on their own for lunch - then you'd have to give a time hack of when to meet back up. Different places might serve quicker or slower than others so that idea might be difficult to do.

You are going to need a head count of who all is coming :-)

Given that our group is always on the large size, any restaurants will be slow on service. Having a "free" lunch break block of time where people can scatter out and go where they want will be a better choice. We can then meet back up at a designated time and place to leave again.

Yeah, I like that idea more as reserving a room requires everyone to pay up front for lunch and there'll be a lack of variety.

I can post a map of the town highlighting the different restaurants and cafes and their respective websites.
