taking delivery of m3 today:Advice?

Hi,

I'm taking delivery of my M-DCT AW M3 today. Is there anything I should watchout for? Anything to go over while at the dealer?

just check the car all over, see if u can get 2008 version of navigation disc, dont take the 2007. floormats too, try to ditch the dealer asap to enjoy the car

oh, i wouldnt opt for anything they will try to sell u like tire insurance, tint, and the whole package of shits they try to sell u

but most importantly take pics and post here asap

on the disc itself it says the "2008" or it might say 2007.2 or something. they might have loaded the disc for u already, just eject it.

they should. mine gave me 07, i said i want 08, she gave me crap, i gave her bad review, she's begging me to come pick up the 08 now. tell them straight up, im buying a 70k car to get an old navi? get me 08 now, that's if they give u crap.

missing a lot of addresses. to me 08 was kinda essential since most of my town got updated in the 08 one

Ask your CA for a Vehicle Inquiry Report. That will show if there was any damage to your car at the port or VPC.

That's a great one that I didn't know about!! I have been putting together a list of things I have seen on the board in anticipation of my delivery in July. Here's what I have...

--No front license plate holder
--Alarm system installed with parts sold at cost
--///M floor mats included for free
--No doc/admin fees
--2008 nav DVD
--Make sure iPod/USB cable is included
--Have dealer beat lowest financing I can find
--Ensure low mileage (<10) on car at delivery
--Get free quart of oil and bmw oil bottle holder from dealer
--No dealer markings or advertising of any kind on car
--Review latest Vehicle Inquiry Report to determine if transit repairs were made at VPC

my m3 cab had water pressure marks on cab roof-- bmw gave me a hardtop for free

Be careful...don't get into the "what if Superman fought Hitler" type questions...just drive the thing, it's a beast. But take my advice stay in D1 during break-in. Also, be very careful to note that "D" is displayed before taking off...it is easy to accidentally put your self in manual mode and all of a sudden you are at 6500rpm in 1st gear wondering WTF happened and why isn't it shifting...

Dont forget a nice set of BMW key chains along side the M mats

..its standard with the dealership name engrave on it

Go pick the thing up and drive it! Just pay attention to the front end clearrance, it is low and can easilly get caught on driveway entries.

I had all these things planned, but when I got there my hard on was impeding my brain from thinking. In the end I just looked over all the body work and interior. I ended up getting tire insurance for $650. I think it'll be worth it especially for 19s. I got an 07 DVD, but I don't think it's a big deal. But now that mantis mentioned it I don't think my home will be in the 07 address listing. Fuuuk.
