I drove the S5. Gorgeous car but handles like shit. Alot of body roll, and not that fast IMO. The M3 is a hundred times more fun

the car is not a handler. to me the S5 is an "almost there!" for audi... not quite the performance car they should have brought out for that $$.

The RS5 should fill in that gray area that was left hanging between the S5 and the M3

You drove the S5 and you reckon it can't handle and it has lots of body roll. Sorry mate but I reckon you never drove the S5 or either the American S5 has a different suspension setup to that of the UK.

I have owned an S5 covering 9800miles and has now covered 2800miles in the M3 and on the road you wouldn't get the impression that the S5 was that far behind the M3 on body roll and it's speed through the corner was also closer than you think. For sure there is a huge difference in speed, but only when you use all of it because when you just use to the same 7,000rpm that the S5 had the speed of the two would be very similar.

Fun factor is the one thing I am in total agreement but to say the S5 handles like shit is to add BULL to that statement and to prove the point it is quicker than either the M3 or the 335i in the Autocar wet handling course and by more than 4 seconds on a track which is barely more than a minute long and quicker than the 335i on the dry course.

anyone saying the S5 isnt a fun car, or that it handles like shit, etc. blah blah blah.... is either a horrible judge of cars, or completely biased.

Probaly the same people saying the C63 cant handle.

sure, you said BMW is performance, and Audi is for luxury.

that is a definite statement and it isn't true.

Which category do you put R8, S line and RS line in? luxury i guess

which category do you put 5/7 series in? performance i guess

since this is a m3 forum, when it comes to RS4 vs m3, which one is more of a performance car?

RS6 vs m3?

This is completely true. BMW makes Dozens of different models... how many have under 300 hp? not many, 2 maybe 3. Even the 5 series like you pointed out, does 0-60 in 5.3

Audi builds luxury cars, alot like Merc, and then build Performance Variations ontop of those cars.

and You comparing an RS6 to an M3 makes you sound like a child.

now you are saying variation. good, good point. its good that you come up with some fact, not judging people blindly.

oops...here we go again. its just an example of comparing a performance car made by Audi to a BMW performer to disprove your "audi is for luxury"

Relax

Well, im one hell of an m3 fan, but i would imagine if this current s5 is already better looking then an m3, and pretty fast.

The rs5 will not only be better looking then an m3 but one hell of a lot faster. Audi sure is putting a torch under bmws ass.

Bmw sets the standards, everyone else trys to raise the bar, its just how it has been going for the last 20 years since the M divisions inception.
