Insurance
Does any one have an any driver policy on their M3? and if so whats the cost and the terms?
I want to pull the trigger on an E92 but I'm not willing to pay 6k for insurance. |

Difficult to say without knowing more but the main variables are going to be postcode, age, driving fines/convictions, NCD, where the car is stored (i.e. garage, on the street, driveway), mileage expected per annum etc...

Biggest variable is Manchester.
I was looking to buy it in my fathers name, for him alone it's around 700 but I didnt realise I'd have to quote my details which messes up the quote. Maybe when I turn 25 it will come down to a reasonable amount but I can't wait that long. |

Insurance companies are well aware of this sort of things nowadays. If you are a named driver only but turn out to be the main driver. They are entitled to refuse any claims as per the contract T&Cs.

The price is still ridiculous with me as a named driver so it's not even an option.
My father would also use it and I have a another car as a daily driver so it wouldn't be a problem if I wanted to do it this way anyway. |

Jeez what the hell are you guys doing? I've been quoted £440 with +1 named driver and I had an accident last year that cost £7500 to put right. Had No Claims Protection, but even so.. XS is only £500.
Am through Royal Sun Alliance. Tried Admiral for a Multicar quote, what a Joke! Quoted me £400+ for my Mini (MoreThan quoted £235) and £650 for the //M...where's the saving?? As hugehead said...shop around you'll get a better deal.

Agreed shopping around helps, despite 10+ years NCB, an East London postcode is something that drives the premium right up, only way I can change this is to move place!
