Hey guys!

Happy Friday. Saturday looks to be a good day. Why don't we try and meet up. NORWOOD could be a good location and easy enough to get to.

My email is below so if you guys want to get out there lets do it. The S/C needs to be broken in a bit more!

Adanieli@tcml.com

I saw an E93 at about 9 this morning on mount auburn street in Cambridge. I was walking and lucky enough to find street parking for one spot only. Had the TTRS out though.

I think they are good. I did the E36M3 bump stops and trimmed strut tube guides to maintain as much suspension travel as possible. These are the mild H&R, not the more aggressive ones, but I still can feel them. My goal was to keep the car civilized and I don't find the compromise to be objectionable.

My decision was $200 for a used set of springs or $1000 or more for coilovers.

The H&R is about a little lower of a drop than Dinan would you say? 1/2 inch to 3/4 front and rear?

That was the suspension that I went with a while ago and have been very happy as I did not want to eliminate the EDC or have that slammed look (although it looks great just not functional in these parts as you know, but great if a track car).

What is the weight on the H&R set up? Do they run about 400-500lbs? I have never figured out the actual set up the Dinan springs, but given the ride quality they are probably around that number. Anything higher is a bone jarring ride on any B roads

You can just notice it if you are looking for it. It is not dramatic. I did not measure before and after. I doubt it is more than about an inch, but do not know for sure. Probably Turner or other sellers of the H&R explain the drop.

You do not want to drop much with springs alone because of the limited suspension travel on these cars. If you want to drop more than very minimally, you should use coilovers so the suspension travel is preserved by lowering the springs on the strut and by using shorter struts. Just using a sleeve kit will lower the springs on the strut but the stock struts are not shortened and are not valved for much higher spring rates. It will work, at least for a while, but is not the best solution.

Thank you for the detailed explanation on that man. I'm thinking on going with KW v3's with the EDC module. If it would've been close to Spring, would've bought them by now. Just don't have the energy to buy them and just leave them sit there until Spring.

NORWOOD is right off 128N/S. if that works for most of us, take the route 1 exit. Where are you located in MA/NH?

We could meet at the BMW gallery right on route 1. There is a Starbucks near the dealer as well.

I spotted a great looking Sakhir Orange F10 M5 flying up RT1N in Revere through Saugus yesterday afternoon, license plate LEMONS. I thought I spotted that same plate on an E92 a year or two ago. Is that anyone on the board?

I would like to participate by I'm lacking one key component, an actual M3. However I will be going to my dealer (Tulley BMW) on Saturday to sign the paperwork. Perhaps I'll even test drive their black/black M3 coupe.

4 months and counting (until M3 arrives)....

Talk about typing...mine randomly put an A as a post. That's a real contribution right there.

I can get a couple of other guys. M or no M I would love to get to meet some other enthusiasts around here. My girlfriend thinks I'm crazy and I need to prove her wrong! Ha

I live in Braintree so I'm in for the morning. Lighter traffic in the morning.
