Yeah, unless you get a tax deduction there is no point in leasing this car.

Sorry, but if you just show up at a dealer without any previous idea or calculation of how much is reasonable nowadays for what you want then that's how the dealership is going to treat you, like you are stupid.

Go to your local bank and make prearrangements for financing/leasing with them. Check leasecompare.com. Check/join a Credit Union. Negotiate the final price at the dealer and finance that sucker elsewhere if their financing/leasing numbers are not comparable.

But you must know your numbers before the dealer tells you what they are...

I would never go to the dealer without having my financing in order. Then, I let them try and beat what I bring. It will always save you money.

If you're dealing on the 6MT, you should be able to get to $1200 per month easily on a 3yr, 36K mile, 0 down lease (including tax). They are trying to stiff you since you ordered the car and they know you have been anxious to get it. Truth is, every dealership I've been to in the LA area has 3 -4 M3 coupes sitting there, and they are not selling. Either bc economy is scary or because people are waiting for the DCT. So if yours is a 6MT, you should definitely definitely not pay over $1300 for this car. It's not worth it at that much. They've had specials where you can get an M5 or M6 for that much, and those cars are easily 25K more expensive.

Check leasecompare.com, they have better lease options on that car.

You've really got to separate the emotion from this part of the process. If you don't they'll have you every time. And remember - the first person who names a figure always looses!

Capital one is offering 5.29% on 5 year buys..... That would be in the $1400-1500 month range depending on your options...

My dealer said BMW is offering 5.9% for 6 years...so that would be in the $1300 range....

He did say the leases are NOT that good....the residuals are far too low, on purpose....in an attempt to keep the cars from being abused and returned...

I got 3.95% on my loan through my dealer. 60 months.

I had every figure already calculated before I went in the door. I knew the exact amount I was going to write a check for before I even talked to the finance guy.

It was such a smooth transaction.
