Glad ya made it safe but better get them snows ASAP!

For sure. But it's dead week and had to make it to school. I didn't even know it snowed until I got out. Being familiar with driving in the snow is no excuse to drive with performance tires, but it did help me do a safe round trip.

Been bumming off rides after that day haha

When I was living in Jersey I drove 14 miles to work, sideways in 2 inches of snow, in my 335i with 10.5 michelin PS2's. Needless to say I didn't need my morning cup of coffee that day..

LMFAO. I feel you. I never slept last night as a result of yesterday. Lesson learned. If snow is just in the forecast for that day the M3 stays home. I'll beat up one of the other cars.

Little did I know that car didn't have ABS, and I had never driven a car without it before. As I was going down a hill, I tried to slow down and instead slid for an entire block right into the back of another rental car stopped at a stopsign... epic fail!

Glad you made it, it's probably much more fun with an LSD
Doood my company is currently moving everything over to SAP! Come on back out and help with it and by help I mean do cool stuff to my car lol

No way!

I was in Anchorage last April and saw you cruise past me on the way back from Alyeska. There could only be one.

Small world.

Hmm, my car left anchorage in 2009.. I think there's one other space grey E92 up there so it might've been that one. I'm bringing mine back up next week!

Why would you even chance it? School can wait over your safety. That truly is a no-brainer here. I have lived in really bad parts of Alaska as well and I thought I could drive through everything. Thats why I have an X5 now.

You should not have been out in that weather with snow like that and ice underneath with Summer tires. If the road is dry, clear, and plowed then that is a different story. I was out in my M3 the other day and it was 5 degrees. Snow everywhere but roads clear as day.

Next time take a cab or walk and take the bus.

Don't think I have to explain my whole situation to you to why I decided to drive to school but you're right that it wasn't the safest decision.

But no matter how much of a "no brainier" situation this is to you, I had to make it to school. I also have enough sense to know the risks and therefore drove as carefully as possible trying not to cause harm to the people around me and myself. But I admit the danger is still out there.

If it makes you feel better, I bummed off rides from friends the next day.

Similar experience here when I bought my E36 M3 back in 98, drove it from New Hampshire to Maine in the snow, never again.
