Missing bolt on OEM x-pipe

Had my car up on a lift yesterday installing my Gintani Sport catback, as we are checking the car out underneath, the tech comes to me and tells me that it looks like I am missing one of the bolts that connect the OEM x-pipe to the headers, I look and sure enough there are two bolts on each side of the x-pipe connecting it to the headers, one of the bolts in the right side is missing
It did not look like I had any leaks but I find it very strange that this bolt would be missing, I bought the car new and have never taken the x-pipe off so it is not like I forgot to put the bolt back on or something.

Any ideas what negative effect this could be causing? I have never felt any loss in power or anything, but then again, if it has always been like this then it would just feel normal to me anyway. I am also concerned that the bolt is missing in the first place, you know, what the heck happened for that bolt not to be there??

I don't think that there would be a loss in power. It doesn't seem like it is leaking air because everything is still pretty air tight. Why not just order a bolt from BMW or even go to the local hardware store and pick up a bolt.

^^ I agree. Should be quite tight with the one, but just order a second one from the dealer.

+1, get a bolt or take it to the Dealer and get it under warranty.

Yea, I am calling my dealer on Monday to get them to correct the issue, I just found it weird that the bolt was missing...

If it were leaking, you would have exhaust soot somewhere close by...will be fine once replaced.

From the pic looks like the bolt was never installed (no bolt marks); weird indeed. Now you know your car was built on a Friday... or a Monday . Take care.
