How much could I get?

I didn't post this in 'For Sale' because I don't know if I'm selling it yet, just trying to get a consensus as to what a realistic sales number for my car would be.

2008 BMW 135i Alpine White/Black Leather
12,500 Miles

Sport Package
Premium Package
6 Speed Manual

This car is literally perfect except for two extremely minor imperfections on the front bumper (wouldn't notice them unless I pointed them out). No accidents, second owner, all service history, never modified.

What do you think I can get for it?

Low mileage for the year. Probably between 21 and 23 depending on how perfect perfect is and if the buyer values the virginity of the car.

I agree with b1aze, very low 20s.

What were you honestly expecting? Its a 5year old car. 50% value retention really isnt bad. My wife's car dropped 40% in value in 2 years...

Yeah...idk. Was hoping for closer to 25, but not that big of a deal. I see a lot of '08's listed for like 23-25 w/much higher miles on them and worse color combos, but I guess you don't know what they actually sell for.

You could start off listing it at 25 to give yourself some room for negotiation. Looking through the 1addicts forum, many of the guys buying used 135's are getting them in the low 20's, but those cars also have far more miles on them than yours.

Are you the first owner of the car? If not, what did you pay for it (when did you pay for it, and how many additional miles did you drive)?

No, second owner. I bought it from a guy in CA and had it shipped to my house (southeast PA). I've put about 1500 miles on it in just over a year. Bought it for around 27 in May of 12.

Hmm I think that might change a couple of peoples' opinions on what it's worth now. If it was $27K just a year ago and you've only put 1500 miles on it since, $23k-$24k might be doable.

I don't know thought I'm literally just guessing blindly, so take my post with a grain of salt.

His purchase price then has no bearing on the value now IMO. If he paid 32K, would it be worth any more?

You could possibly find a buyer in the $24-25k range if they're looking for an N54 car with low miles with your colors. But it would be a lucky catch. At this rate though, you'd be best off selling it before the M235i arrives, just to take advantage of still have the latest thing. Try not to think about the fact that it may have cost you $3/mile for your year of ownership.

Yeah, it's not that at all...I mean cars depreciate. I guess the other thing is that the car was still within warranty when I bought it.

I'm going to have to figure it out. I kind of want an E90 M3, but I'm not going to start looking until I've figured out what I'm going to do with this one.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts/advice!

if it's worth it to get an m3, take the hit... economy sucks and half the people who would buy your car can't afford it.

personally, i don't think you're too far from an m3 and would just keep it. my m3 is pretty much retired, it's old, has a ton of miles, can't even keep up with your car... though not selling it has saved me tons of money, and still feels good to say i have an m3.
