Sorry man, didn't see your PM until now. I won't be home the next 2 days as my kids are out of school. When I get back we will get together.

Less than a week later it arrived at Jet Hot to be ceramic coated (black satin). I'll post picks when it gets back to me next week.
Curious to see this look, please post photos when done. Not trying to be a jerk, but whats the difference is between ceramic coating vs high temp engine paint. I have these tips too and thought about painting them black. Youll love the exhaust.
High temp paint is just paint that can withstant high temperatures. They will flake over time. Ceramic coatings prevent a good percentage of the heat from dissipating through the exhaust pipes. Most people just coat the headers to keep engine bay temps down but i will eventually coat the whole system. Jet hot has a lifetime warrantee on there coatings that even transcends owners. Plus, I think it just looks great.

Good to know. Ive heard of using it on headers, will be cool to have the entire system done. Probably some added benefit if you get a diffuser out back too, may prevent burn marks. Enjoy the exhaust!

Yea its free! As long as you have the equipment and skills to cut the exhaust open, fabricate pipes, and weld everything back together! Everyone has the ability to do that right?

Because it doesn't sound good with a test pipe, which is one of the reasons why everyone that wants to go with primary cat delete choses Megan exhaust.

You're welcome.

I ordered mine through www.partshawk.com. I will probably cancel since I'm buying one locally from a forum member. Keep us updated. I hope you don't wait too long!

I also ordered mine from there a couple of weeks ago. The shipping was fast and I had it installed and ready to go within a few days. I have to say I'm impressed with the exhaust so far (especially given the cost). I've spent thousands on Dinan exhaust in the past on my previous e92 335 and e92 M3 and the Megan is comparable. Granted, the build quality isn't quite as good and there is a slight amount of drone, but nothing that's obnoxious.

If you're on the fence, I'd say go for it. Worst case scenario you can sell it for close to what you paid to another forum member.

Dave
This is a review I wrote on Borla ATAK exhaust if anyone is interested.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One thing I can say is, I love this exhaust.
It's been about 4 months since I had it on, and WOW, I love the sound.

1 - DRONE) It is advertised "drone-free". And honestly, 90% of this statement is true. On the highway, it has a very slight drone, but really, NOTHING compared to some other exhausts out there.

2 - LOUDNESS) I am solely comparing to my friend's Meisterschaft GT or GT2 (can't remember exactly) on his E92 M3. As most of you know, Meisterschaft exhausts are LOUD AS HELL. The loudness of Borla ATAK exhaust is pretty damn close.
The difference, I would say, is Meisterschaft has a higher-pitch tone, a bit louder, more exotic sounding. The Borla ATAK has a slightly deeper tone, and more rumble to it (obviously not as much as the C63, but it's still got some bass sound). It's not a crazy ear-drum destroyer, but it is enough to please your and others' ears.

3 - FITMENT) I was disappointed. I expected a near-perfect fitment. My mechanic friend had to heat the hangers to fit & adjust correctly. However, like all the other categories, this could be different depending on the person. I would say I'm pretty picky, but maybe some of you would be okay with it. With a bit of work & bending, it should fit almost perfectly.

Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase. Sound and volume-wise, I am content.
The look, I like it. I would say the tips look pretty stock compared to other exhaust systems. Nothing "too much"
The price, it's on an inexpensive side for a system for M3, so yeah. (personally, I wouldn't pay 4-5k for a cat-back exhaust. At the end of the day, it is just a cat-back)

I hope you guys got some idea and what to expect from this exhaust.
I would recommend it.

Well, the order is still pending when you check it in their tracking section. They haven't even charged my account even though I paid through paypal. How long did it take them to ship it once you placed the order?
