The status on my car...

I now have my car back to stock, and no longer have the SC kit. Gintani to date has covered the motor repair and labor, which I very much appreciate. As far as the motor tear down, inspection and diagnosis, that is up to Gintani to let us know.

Others may have a different opinion and I certainly could be wrong, but after doing more research, my feeling is the motor threw a rod because the car did have a Water/Meth failure not long before it went, it appears 9.5 psi is probably too much boost in general on a stock motor regardless of the fuel, but on 91 octane with no WM @ 9.5psi the motor would not last long and it most likely compromised a rod bearing. Even with the WM system repaired, the damage was probably already done.

On the stock setup with this used motor, running the Gintani X-pipe and Borla muffler, the car hit 355WHP, and 269WTQ. I also matched my previous best 60-130 time of 10.7s, so this used motor appears to be healthy and right where it should be.

Thanks for the info, I certainly don't drive my car as much as you do but I'll definitely keep my eye on the w/m flow. Thanks Ryan, yes keep on eye on the WM. I would bring the boost down a bit too. Looking forward to some more vids from you, no doubt a 997tt would be a great choice if you decide to move on.

Yeah, the lease was up and i was bored with the car. I'm looking at the '12 GTR and CTS-V, but just found out about the '12 Z06 Centennial Edition .

12.0:1 compression and 9.5 psi of boost do not mix, even with water/meth its pushing the envelope, especially on 91 fuel.

I'm sorry you had to deal with all this trouble with your car Drew, but this never should have happened to begin with.

good to hear you are back on the road and gintani took care of the situation. Do you think the value of your car dropped significantly now that you don't have the original motor in the car? How does the mileage reading on your car work? Was it reset to whatever the mileage was on the used motor?

Thanks! I'm not sure if it dropped, this motor has only 5K on it, the car had 24K.
